>>7386>>7465It seems that the firmer i make the pony, the less pens fit.
Her dock is also massive to support the tail.
i dunno when i started this but finally decided to finish it once and for all.
flyin lesson. another good excuse to draw a plane.
>>3212who is this new stallion?
I have a really cool thing coming up. hopefully will get a prototype made up this weekend. picture somewhat related
>>7843Kek, nice!
And I like your really clean style.
Alright, got some pictures. This is kind of the start of a very large project that hopefully will end with solid bronze kirins to be used as incense burners.
Anyway, I wanted to see how a regular 3D print would look like, make sure the scale is good and get some practice laying out support structures.
I forgot I need to not leave the model wet with alcohol before curing, makes the surface all weird.
Also the 3D print failed around the one eyeball and her scales on her back, as you can see in the last image. I think its probably from crappy resin, as it is quite old and has been sitting in my 3D printer for 6 months or so. Didn't even shake it up before using. Mixed it around a bit inside the tank, but yeah, resin was on sale in clearance, so who knows how old it was.
Enjoy cute Kirin for now
>>8302This is really cool, Anon. Do you intend to make moulds and cast the bronze yourself? I love incense by the way - which kind do you intend to use after casting your kirin?
I build a fair amount of scale models, and 3D printing is the wave of the future. Yet I was part of the old school, so it's polystyrene and polyester putty for me. I wanted to get into resin casting but resin dust causes cancer.
>>8336I made my own incense using the fragrance I imagine each pony would smell like. the same stuff I make soap with.
yes, I intend to cast the bronze myself, though that is still a ways off still. need to finish making the vacuum chamber and buy an expensive burnout kiln and a special kind of resin and the plaster to cast with.
none of it is cheap to do properly.
>>8302Thats supper neat, are you planing on having only a Kirins incense burners? What about other fire related ponies, Princess Celestia / Daybreaker / Rapidash Twilight / Dyx (filly/milf versions)?
WIP model of a silly little pony. Not happy with her face rn. Want to try and get it closer to something like say, Clopician's style I think. As is, it's kinda human and uncanny. Think it's mostly the eyes being too forward facing and not more on the sides.
>>8401Looks a little like a bootleg g5, solid start sculpt but a little rough around the edges. Post a turn around or more angles , you're only showing the same angles as if it were 2d
>>8407Here ya go. You're right about the G5 comment. I think it is mostly the eyes lol. I also want to improve her tail dock. The extra hoof between her rear legs is what I'm gonna replace the ones on her body with. I took her hair off for most of these to show her head shape a bit better.
>>8411>dockWider at the base, tapering at the tip
>>8412I don’t believe that what you see is caused by that strong of a degree of tapering on the actual fleshy part of the tail though. I think much of that is caused by the hair covering the flesh. It tapers for sure, but hair actually grows out of the flesh and covers it.
>>8302did a bunch of little things to the 3D solid. the slicing software complained about it a lot for areas I know would not be a problem, so not sure if I did something wrong or not, but I'll find out tomorrow when I pull it out.
I can't even into blender
>>8341Hey anon if you want I could possible cast the print for you so you have something to test with until you get your own setup
While still not perfect by any means, this is much closer to what I wanted, and I'm pretty happy with where it's going. There are some slight issues with the eyes and nostrils I'd like to fix, but I think this is pretty good progress for the day. At least, imo.
Also including a rarity render by Clopician, which I used pretty heavily as reference.Man makes some very pretty mares.
>>8512I tried 3D printing the kirin again, but it didn't really work. While the eye and eyelashes are fixed, the scales are not. Need to do quite a bit of reworking, maybe this weekend.
I'll get the file to you once I get the few remaining issues fixed.
>>8835Male or female? Are you going to add the eyelashes as particles like g5 or something?
>>8953female. I am still unsure about the eyelashes. I always hate doing eyelashes lmao.
What's the consensus for Equestria at War as a setting? I recently had an absolute clusterfuck of a campaign as the Griffonian Empire and felt compelled to work out a storyline.
I'm thinking of 3 perspectives, one for air, land, and sea. Mainly to keep engagements from getting stale.
>>8989love EaW, though I wasn't really ever good at it. which path did you do?
if you eventually decide to write some fan lore to it, lmk here
>>7611Working on fluttershy now that pinkie is done.
https://cytu.be/r/ponyplushplace >>9208The way you did the mane came out great!
>>9208Dude this is so good. Awesome job! Also lmao at suicidal/lynched anon filly
>>9408does that mean I won't be able to see what was drawn anymore?
>>9431You thought a circlejerk cared about anything but the circlejerk?
>>9208second fluttershy stream because of my work ethic.
https://cytu.be/r/ponyplushplace >>9512progress from last night.
>>9512bro this is absurdly cute lmao. Great job!
Drew this on paper during a con for practice and then digitized it later. Thoughts?
>>9649really good lines. did you make a sketch first then color it in?
there are only three things that stand out to me, one of them is like three armpits there. The lighting under her arm should be much more bright. Her horn looks small.
Oh, and she has hands.
Exceptional linework though, and almost all of the coloring and shading is quite good too. I just wish she had more hooves.
>>8835how are you not getting more you's? high quality 3D models that are rigged are exceptionally difficult to make. I hope you continue on such, and even ask for a solid at some point to 3D print if its released.
>>9512>>9518Awesome!!! My wife is so cute! Amazing work friend

I did draw it on paper. My tablet has a terrible battery so I could really only draw on it when it's plugged in. But thank you for the feed back! Lighting is something I'm still learning overall. Getting better though.
drew a little pony addition to some vulgar graffiti I spotted
>>9651 Have another one for you, and this one is more recent, a little more nsfw
>>9707it looks good and interesting choice of clothing
but the eyes and face
looks to realistic
try to draw their eyes cuter and bigger
also the shadow looks a bit weird
use softer and smoother shadows
--
just saying , overall it looks great
>>9717Trying my hand at Trixie now
some random stuff done recently
>>9996Very cute. Seriously, anon, you have your own style.
