>Poland slams EU Parliament actions as 'scandalous'
>Poland's government hit back Wednesday after the European Parliament launched action over concerns that the right-wing government in Warsaw has compromised the independence of the judiciary and risks breaching fundamental European values.
>In a resolution adopted by 438 to 152, with 71 abstentions, the European lawmakers triggered the first stage of a so-called rule-of-law procedure against the Polish government on Wednesday.
>The procedure could lead to the suspensions of Poland's EU voting rights.

If that happens we'll get the unbelievable irony of Germany invading Poland again.

I can't wait until the EU fails. Maybe we can put all this "progress" crap behind us after the fall.

I hope you're right but I get the feeling that the "progress" will continue with or without the EU.

The EU is the primary engine, though. Some countries will progress to ruin regardless, but only a supra-national government like the Union can force others to go along. Sovereignty is something we should all support.

Poland will likely be the fuse of a nationalistic wave in Europe. If the Poles break off, 90% of Hungary breaking off. If Hungary breaks off, 50% the Czechs will also break off. If the Czechs break off, the Slovaks will break off too. If Eastern Europe breaks off like that, There may be a chance Greece breaks off too. After that, who knows? What is for certain is that if the EU rubs on Poland too hard, the fuse will be lit.

Eh, we get too much money out of it. Even though most of it goes back to krauts, no sane government would pull us out. Also as long as we're in EU eurosceptic parties (and they have currently power) can use things like refugess or any actions that EU does against us to gain more and more support. If we leave they can no longer scare people like that. And if we leave our economy would probably go down so people wouldn't be that happy with that.
Only reasons that I can see for Polexit is either western countries starting to collaps and stopping gibs or going full totalitarian and starting to gather even more power over us.
Or people choosing someone who don't really care about support. (Korwin, which is almost completely impossible).

People here like to complain about EU, but we get a lot of benefits and in the end we can just show middle finger towards west and act as happy merchants.

Fuck, so we have to wait until Germany is bankrupt and the Euro collapses before we get to see the EU crumble to dust.

>and ultra-low borrowing costs
This is what will be the downfall. All (or almost all) countries have kept their borrowing interest rate at a unrealistic low figure. It only have to rise by 1% and most is fucked. This is why all the central banks run by the states have kept it low and not increased it. They can keep it low for a while, but at some point it has to go up. And the longer they keep it fictionally low the harder the fall will be when it goes up 0.5% or 1%. I think we are on a ride to economic inflation hell, bankruptcies, and foreclosures of homes and businesses.

I disagree, I think we are going into a depression. The retiree boom means they cut spending by one third to one half of normal. What we are going to see, money flow wise, is continuing economic decline.

By the 2030s we will do the opposite of the 1980s interest rate spike due to demographics. All of our expectations are false, because what is coming has never occurred in our lives before, we naturally can't conceive it.

Yes, there is two ways it can go. Continue lowering the interest rate until it cost money to have money in the bank (negative interest rate on savings). If this happens everyone will withdraw their money form the bank, and the banking system will (could) collapse more or less. Banks will have negative assets and can't issue new loans.

If they increase the interest rate. Many people will loose their homes because they can't pay the interest rate any more. And in turn loose their savings.

I have to concede I have not that much of an economic grasp, but I think both options will result in collapse and an depression. The only solution is to let the crash happen sooner than later to minimize the magnitude. People will suffer, we just have to decide if we want everyone to suffer in the end.

Poland probably will stay in EU until it collapses. Current goverment is against leaving EU, even if they're against EU's agenda of multiculturalism. So far EU shits over our useless supreme court, which no one gave a fuck about until someone wanted to reform this useless pile of crap.
