https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/syrian-army-bulls-isils-defenses-east-hama-liberates-several-points/
>BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:55 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) wasted no time after the announcement of Al-Sukhnah’s liberation yesterday, liberating new areas from the remaining Islamic State (ISIL) terrorists clinging onto the eastern countryside of Hama.

>Backed by heavy Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army’s Qalamoun Shield unit of the 3rd Division attacked the Islamic State’s positions near the town of Salba, scoring a new advance after an intense battle this afternoon.

>According to a government source in Salamiyah City, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies seized several points, including the large hilltop of Tal Hikmat, from the Islamic State militants, killing and wounding scores of terrorists in the process.

>The Syrian military is now gearing up for a major assault on the strategic town of ‘Uqayrbat, which is considered the Islamic State’s last stronghold in central Syria.

Even more evidence that ISIS has largely abandoned this region.

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/breaking-high-ranking-commander-jaysh-al-islam-assassinated-amid-new-rebel-infighting/
>BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:15 A.M.) – Minutes ago, Jaysh Al-Islam announced the death of one of its highest ranking commanders in the East Ghouta after what appears to be a targeted assassination carried out by a rival Islamist group.

>According to local opposition activists, Rida Al-Hariri was killed by an IED that was detonated while he was in a vehicle tonight.

>Al-Hariri was considered one of the highest ranking commanders of Jaysh Al-Islam and the leader of their 6th Brigade in the East Ghouta region.

>The death of this Jaysh Al-Islam commander comes just hours after the Islamist group and their former allies from Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Faylaq Al-Rahman engaged in a new round of infighting in the East Ghouta.

More infighting in East Ghouta, with high-ranking commanders getting killed. All while the SAA is advancing in Ein Tarma.

After the defeat of ISIS, it depends on what the US Kurds decide to do. If they chimp out in North Syria and attack SAA positions because the US told them to, then the SAA and the Russians are going to focus them next. Keep in mind that the SDF is made up of mainly Kurds, but there are quite a few Arab elements as well, and they may prove more loyal to Assad than Rojava. Then there's also the chance that Erdogan may choose to invade Syrian Kurdistan to boost popularity at home and send a message to the Kurds within Turkey.

However, if the Kurds stay put, and play nice, then Assad will shift priority to the FSA, particularly, the ones in Damascus, Beit Jinn, Rastan Pocket, etc.
>Basically, cleaning up the pockets within SAA territory and freeing up more soldiers to attack Idlib.

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/turkish-army-renews-offensive-kurdish-held-villages-northern-aleppo/
>DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:20 P.M.) – Overnight, fresh clashes erupted between the Turkish Armed Forces, backed by Ahrar Al-Sham and Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions, and the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

>According to a Kurdish source close to Al-Masdar News, Turkish troops and aligned Syrian rebels launched a brief assault on the SDF-held town of Maranaz under the cover of darkness. Clashes continued throughout the night, but the Turkish-led attack proved largely fruitless with zero ground gained in Aleppo province as daylight broke on Sunday.

>Meanwhile, Turkish artillery units opened fire on the villages of Ayn Daknah, Al-Biloniyah, Sheikh Issa, Al-Samuqah and Tall Rifaat today, targeting positions controlled by SDF fighters.

>Sporadic firefights are also taking place across Efrin’s eastern frontline. Al-Masdar News was unable to obtain information regarding casualties due to the renewed fighting.

More skirmishes between TFSA and SDF, with no gainz on either side.

Assad is definetly going to win. The only quesiton is how complicated this victory is going to be.
It depends on following factors
>Factions willing to start insurgencies
>Kurds grabbing and keeping land
>Israel screeching in Golan Heights
>Foreign support for opposition groups

It could go many ways but as the war continues it turns more and more into foreign politics chess.

Also, the SAA have seized a huge tunnel network in new liberated district to the east of Sanbal Petrol Station in Ein Terma
>http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=33.510985&lon=36.345778&z=15&m=b
This is very significant, as the hallmark of this siege has been rebel tunnels all throughout Damascus. This plus corruption/smuggling has enabled the Damascus pockets to hold out for years. The SAA is trying to cut off Jobar from the rest of the pocket, which means koteling Jobar, AND blowing up tunnels leading to Jobar, forcing the rebels to either fight to the death, or withdraw/greenbus.

When the Tiger Forces link up with the SAA in Sukhnah, this will create the largest ever pocket in this war.
However, a lot of this future pocket will be mountains and rocky terrain. The amount of success the SAA has in clearing out this region depends on how many ISIS are remaining in the area, but I'd put my money on not many ISIS in the area.

Let's take a look at the Tiger's next target: Taybeh.
http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=35.089012&lon=38.854179&z=12&m=b

>There's not much in Taybeh. There's the village itself, which isn't that big. There are also farms which is where ISIS will put an initial fight before retreating into Taybeh. Taybeh itself is much smaller than Sukhnah, so when the Tigers enter the village, they should have it cleared out by the end of the day (of their attack).

>However, there are two mountains to the west of Taybeh that might give the Tigers some trouble, especially if ISIS plants artillery up there, because those mountains grant fire control over Taybeh to whoever controls those mountains. If ISIS is going to put up a fight, it's going to be Taybeh and it's nearby mountains.

>IF ISIS doesn't put up much of a fight there, then that will confirm they have indeed abandoned this area.

A little history of Taybeh in the civil war: the SAA actually controlled Taybeh in 2015, before ISIS' first Palmyra offensive. When ISIS launched their Palmyra offensive, they attacked from Taybeh, and blitzed all the way down to Palmyra, and the rest is history.
So by recapturing Taybeh (albiet from the north instead of the south), the SAA will have effectively reversed all ISIS gains in this region since May 2015.

>Islamist rebels suffer more setbacks in Jobar as elite SAA troops capture several sites

BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scored another large advance in the east Damascus suburb of Jobar, today, after pushing south from the strategic Al-Manasher Roundabout.

According to a military source from the elite 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army captured several building blocks located east of the Jobar Sports Hall.

This advance at the Jobar Sports Hall comes just hours after another unit from Syrian Arab Army’s 42nd Brigade captured a number of sites south of the strategic Al-Manasher Roundabout.
With Faylaq Al-Rahman involved in a fierce battle with Jaysh Al-Islam today, the Syrian Arab Army is taking advantage of the Islamist infighting to expand on their territorial gains in the eastern suburbs of Damascus.

>VIDEO: Syrian government forces break in ISIS defensives in east Hama

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:45 P.M.) – Battles continue to break out in the eastern countryside of Hama as the Syrian government forces resume a wide-scale offensive against the Islamic State in bid to reach the group’s stronghold of Aqirbat.

Backed by Qalamoun Shield group, the Syrian Army managed to fully control a series of strategic hilltops which overlooks Salba; another ISIS-held town located just to the northwest of Aqirbat.

According to field reports, scores of ISIS jihadists have been killed and injured as the Army troops broke into their defensives, destroyed tunnels and barricades, and seized weapons and ammunition.
As seen in the video below, the Syrian helicopters provided the necessary air cover for the ground troops to advance by conducting several airstrikes against ISIS positions.

Qalamoun Shield is a pro-government group fighting alongside the Syrian Army on several battlefronts across the country, and it includes a considerable number of former rebel fighters who have reconciled with the Syrian government.

>Exclusive: Elite Syrian Army units arrive in east Damascus to finish off jihadists

BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:10 P.M.) – Soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army’s 39th and 40th brigades have deployed to the strategic suburb of Jobar to aid the forces fighting the jihadist rebels in east Damascus, a source from the 42nd Brigade told Al-Masdar News today.

According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army is preparing a much larger operation inside the suburb of Jobar, as their clashes with Faylaq Al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham revealed that the jihadist rebels will not give up the area without a fight.

Both the 39th and 40th brigades are battle tested units that are part of the elite 4th Mechanized Division, which primarily operates inside the Rif Dimashq Governorate.

These brigades initially had a small presence inside the East Ghouta; however, due to the intensity of the battle in Jobar, the Syrian High Command has called on more soldiers to aid in the fight.

>Lebanese Army prepares to storm ISIL’s positions on Syrian border

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:15 P.M.) – The Lebanese Army has taken up positions around the southern corridor of the Ras Ba’albak region this afternoon, a military source told Al-Masdar News.

To weaken the terrorist group’s resolve, the Lebanese Army has been pounding the area around the Zamrani Road, inflicting heavy damage on ISIL’s trenches.

“The Lebanese Army is currently shelling Da’esh’s positions in the outskirts of Ras Baalbek, using heavy artillery and rocket launchers,” a National News Agency Correspondent said on Tuesday.

In the coming days, the Lebanese Army’s infantry units are expected to launch their ground assault to clear the Ras Ba’albak area and restore control over the Syrian border.

>ISIL collapse continues in east Hama as Syrian Army troops liberate new areas

BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:35 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIL) is losing ground rapidly across Syria, forcing them to often abandon areas they once enjoyed unrivaled control over.

In particular, the Islamic State had been relatively unchallenged in the eastern countryside of Hama, thanks in large part to their massive presence across central Syria.

However, this is no longer the case, as units from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) close-in everyday on the Islamic State’s positions in eastern Hama.

On Tuesday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s Qalamoun Shield forces of the 3rd Division resumed their offensive operations near the town of Salba, liberating a large hilltop overlooking the area from the east.

According to a military source at the Hama Airport, the Syrian Arab Army liberated Tal Mazara’ this afternoon, following a fierce battle with the remaining Islamic State terrorists in the area.
https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/isil-collapse-continues-east-hama-syrian-army-troops-liberate-new-areas/
With Tal Mazara’ now under their control, the Syrian Arab Army will now turn their attention to Salba, where they hope to enter the town in the coming days.

>Breaking: Iraqi forces begin strategic Tal Afar offensive

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:55 A.M.) – The Iraqi Armed Forces have kicked off their long-awaited Tal ‘Afar offensive in the northwestern countryside of the Nineveh Governorate, the spokesperson for the Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) reported this morning.

To begin the offensive, the Iraqi Air Force carried out several airstrikes over the Tal ‘Afar area, inflicting heavy damage on the Islamic State’s (ISIL) defenses.

While the PMU, Iraqi Army, and Sunni tribesmen have yet to carry out the ground assault, they are expected to attack in the coming days as the air force weakens the Islamic State’s resolve.

Tal ‘Afar is a strategic area located directly west of Mosul; it was one of the first places to fall to the Islamic State in 2014.

On Sunday, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released 75 Syrian ISIS fighters who had been captured or had surrendered themselves during the Raqqa Battle, according to pro-Kurdish sources.

The fighters were reportedly released at the request of the Raqqa Civil Council in Ayn Issa in the northern Raqqa countryside.

Pro-opposition sources published the names of all the fighters who were released. It’s still unknown if any of them have been involved in war crimes during their membership in ISIS.

>ISIS Takes Defense Posture In Central Syria. Government Forces Prepare To Deliver Devastating Blow To Terrorists

Following a success of the previous three days, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies gained a number of opportunities to continue their anti-ISIS operation in central Syria.

With the liberation of the Kawn oasis in the province of Homs, the SAA Tiger Forces deployed in a striking distance from the village of Taybah located at the road between Resafa and Sukhna.

In turn, ISIS took a defense posture and is now preparing for defensive operations and counter-attacks in order to prevent the SAA progress in central Syria.

Local sources speculate that ISIS lacks manpower to defend all its positions north of the Homs-Palmyra highway. If this is true, government forces have two key options:

1. The SAA and its allies could make an attempt to further advance south of Ithriyah in order to cut off the ISIS-held town of Uqayribat from the rest of the ISIS-held area. However, ISIS has a strong defense in the area and has repeatedly shown that it’s able to repel an advance in this direction.
2. Government forces will further advance along the Resafa-Sukhna road in order to link up the govenrment-held areas in the provinces of Homs and Raqqah. If this is done, the SAA will divide the ISIS-held area in the province of Homs in two parts.

Some sources also speculate that government forces may attempt to expand their zone of control north of Palmyra in order to secure the western flank of Sukhna prior to launching further attempts to drive ISIS out from the whole area north of the Homs-Palmyra highway.

At the same time, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq released a statement claiming that ISIS members have repelled all SAA attempts to seuze the village of Humaymah located near the border with Iraq. This may indicate that the SAA shifted further the focus of its operations to central Syria.

Syrian government forces have made minor gainst against ISIS terrorists in the area south of the government-held Ithriya town. The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies liberated Jbab Marina and advanced in the area between Jbab Marina and the Ithiya mount.

Despite this activity, government forces were not able to make notable gainst against ISIS and to pose a real threat to ISIS units in the Uqairybat area.

The key battle that will impact the future of Uqairybat is now ongoing in the area north of Sukhna.

>ISIS Launches Large Counter-Attack West Of Maadan, Overruns Syrian Army Defense – Reports

On Tuesday, ISIS fighters launched a large counter-attck against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and allies tribal forces west of the ISIS-held town of Maadan in the southern Raqqah countryside.

According to reports, ISIS units overrun the government forces defense in the area and entered the villages of al-Buhamad, Athshana, Salem Hamad and Ghanim Ali where an intense fighting was reported.

According to some sources, ISIS even seized Ghanim Ali but no videos or photos were provided to confirm these allegations. If the ISIS gains are confirmed, it will indicate that the SAA will not be able to seize the important town of Maadan in the nearest future.

UPD: In turn, pro-government sources denied that the ISIS had been able to seize some ground west of Maadan. However, they were also not able to provide any photo or video confirmation from the area.

Last weekend, the Syrian military shifted its anti-ISIS efforts from the southern Raqqah countryside to the province of Homs. Elite fighters of the SAA Tiger Forces were redeployed from the Maadan area. Most likely, ISIS used this fact for own counter-attack.

Government forces are now attempting to cut off ISIS supply lines north of Sukhna in the province of Homs. If they are able to do this, the ISIS counter-attack near Maadan will not increase the ISIS chances to survive in central Syria.

>Syrian War Report – August 15, 2017: Tiger Forces Clearing Central Syria From ISIS

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces have been further capitalizing from the airdrop operation conducted behind ISIS defense lines in the Homs-Palmyra countryside.

On Monday, the Tiger Forces liberated the villages of Bukhayran, Ariqah and Othmaniyah and then the entire Kawm oasis located on the road between Resafa and Sukhna. On Tuesday, government troops continued developing momentum in the directions of Bir Hisayyah and Taybah.

Russian Ka-52 attack helicopters provide a close air support to the advancing government troops. According to local sources, Russian military advisers are involved in the operation.

If the Tiger Forces capture any of the aforementioned villages, they will be able to threaten all ISIS supply lines in the area. This will decrease the ISIS defense capabilities in Uqayribat in the eastern Hama countryside.

The Syrian military is very close to putting ISIS units north of the Homs-Palmyra highway in a no-win situation. In coming days, ISIS will counter-attack in order to slow down the Tiger Forces advance and to prevent encirclement of its forces. If terrorists are not able to achieve their goal, it may lead to a full collapse of the ISIS defense in the area.

In eastern Damascus, government forces continued pressuring Faylaq al-Rahman and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in Jobar and Any Tarma. Since the resumption of the operation in these areas, the SAA has made some tactical gains, but the situation remains complicated. Many will depend on the ability of militant groups operating in Eastern Ghouta to cooperate against government forces.

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have faced troubles inside the city of Raqqah where the SDF is clashing with ISIS. Since Saturday, ISIS has conducted multiple counter-attacks in the eastern, western and southern parts of the city using VBIEDs, snipers and grenade launchers. According to AMAQ, about 50 SDF members have been killed in the recent attacks. However, this number sounds overestimated.

The delay in the battle of Raqqah plays in to the hands of the Syrian military that seeks to liberate central Syria and to reach Deir Ezzor before the US-backed force.

>Russian Aerospace Forces Propel Syrian Army Advance In Homs Province

The Russian Aerospace Forces have significantly increased airstrikes on ISIS targets in the Homs province in central Syria, according to pro-government sources.

Russian attack helicopters and warplanes are actively supporting the ongoing Syrian Arab Army (SAA) advance in the direction of Sukhna from the province of Homs. Attack helicopters provide a close air support while warplanes destroy ISIS fortifications and military columns moving in the area.

The SAA is now clashing with ISIS terrorists north of the ISIS-held village of Taybah that is likely a current goal of the advance. Taybah may be turned into a government strongpoint at the Sukhna-Resafa road that would allow the SAA to control the nearby area.

According to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq, the attack took place in Rumaniyah and Barazi districts on August 14. A fighting was also reported in the southern part of the city.

However, ISIS was not able to make any significant progress against the US-backed force.

There are no confirmed reports about casualties among the SDF members.

>US Army Conducts Heliborne Operation in Eastern Syria, Takes Another ISIL Commander Away – Media

On August 15, the Iranian state-linked Fars News Agency has relelased a fresh reported arguing that the US-led coalition has conducted a helicborne operation rescuing a top ISIS commander from eastern Syria.
FARSNEWS’ article (source in link):

Military helicopters of the US-led coalition carried out another heliborne operation in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, carrying a senior ISIL commander on board, an Arab media outlet reported on Tuesday.

The Arabic-language al-Ahd news website reported that the US army carried out a heliborne operation South of the town of al-Sayal, taking away a senior finance official of the ISIL terrorists group along with his wife.

Al-Ahd further said that evacuation of ISIL’s top financial official from al-Sayal was carried out after the commanders’ coordination with the US-led coalition.

The US army has conducted a growing number of similar heliborne operations to help senior ISIL leaders in Eastern Syria this year.

Local sources reported in July that a group of ISIL terrorists were transferred by a van from the town of Ayyash in Eastern Deir Ezzur to a ISIL-held desert region in the Eastern direction of the town of al-Sukhnah in Eastern Homs, where three helicopters of the coalition were hovering over the region.

One of the helicopters landed but the other two continued to fly over the region.

The three helicopters flew towards North and entered Raqqa airspace, adding that there was no information about their exact destination.

The sources further said that the ISIL militants taken away by the American choppers could have been one of the spying groups used by Washington via Jeish Maqavir al-Thowrah militant group to materialize its objectives in the region.

More reports said in June that the US-led coalition aircraft carried out heliborne operation in regions controlled by ISIL terrorists in Northern Raqqa.

The heliborne operation to save the ISIL members was conducted in the Northern parts of Raqqa.

Meantime, other reports said that the predominately Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) forces who were stationed in Raqqa under the US supervision allow the ISIL terrorists to leave Raqqa city.

SUMMARY:

On Tuesday, ISIS fighters launched a large counter-attack against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and tribal forces west of the ISIS-held town of Maadan in the southern Raqqah countryside. According to reports, ISIS units entered the villages of al-Buhamad, Athshana, Salem Hamad and Ghanim Ali where heavy clashes erupted.

Initially some sources claimed that ISIS recaptured the villages from the SAA, but no photos or videos to confirm this were pprovided. In turn, pro-government sources denied claims about the ISIS advance.

On Wednesday, the clashes continued in the area west of Maadan. ISIS units were attempting to boost a buffer zone near the ISIS-held town.

Last weekend, the Syrian military shifted its military efforts from the southern Raqqah countryside to the province of Homs. The elite SAA Tiger Forces deployed for the advance along the Resafa-Sukhna road. ISIS decided to use it in order to improve its situation near the Euphrates River.

On Tuesday, Jaysh Usud al-Sharqiya downed a MiG-21 warplane belonging to the Syrian Arab Air Force in the Wadi Hamoud area near the border with Jordan. The plane was allegedly downed with a ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft mount. A pilot ejected from the plane but was captured by militants.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) has announced a formation of the Hama Army, a new operation room that includes several units defected from Ahrar al-Sham, a unit from Jund al-Sham and another one from Ajnad al-Sham. The Hama Army pledged allegiance to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) indicating the continuing collapse of any opposition to the al-Qaeda-linked group in the militant-held part of western Syria.

HTS is working to consolidate the power in Idlib in order to establish a unified political and military command over the rest of militant groups operating in the area. If this is done prior to the defeat of ISIS in central Syria, HTS-led forces will be able to delay significantly the SAA effort against ISIS with offensives on government held area in northern Hama, western Aleppo or at the Ithriyah-Aleppo highway. HTS’ aim is to prevent collapse of ISIS that would lead to the situation when the terrorist group and its allies could remain face to face with the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance in this part of Syria.

The similar strategy was repeatedly used during the previous years of the war when the so-called opposition was attacking the SAA in the most complicated moments of its operations against ISIS.

Also, BREAKING! ISIS soon to be encircled in Central Syria!

>BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:35 P.M.)

Minutes ago, a military source informed Al-Masdar News that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) had overrun the Islamic State’s (ISIL) defenses in central Syria, liberating a large chunk of territory in southern Al-Raqqa.

Backed by Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army liberated Tal Al-Asfar, Duhour Al-Mamlaha, Rasm al-Ummali, Rajm Al-Sheh, Souh Al-Dalej, and the Al-Ouj Canyon after a fierce battle with the Islamic State north of the Al-Sha’er Mountains.

Following the liberation of the aforementioned sites, the Syrian Arab Army take control of several hilltops southeast of Ithriya, giving their forces fire control over Al-Fasdah, Amsha, and Radda.

The Syrian Army is now on the verge of completely besieging the Islamic State in central Syria.

>SDF Repels ISIS Attack In Raqqah City, Reportedly Kills Over 100 ISIS Members

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), supported by the US-led coalition, have repelled a large-scale advance of ISIS near the Old Raqqah area in the city of Raqqah.

According to pro-Kurdish sources, ISIS attacked the SDF in the distrcits of ar-Rafiqa, al-Mahdi and in the nearby areas but failed to achieve any gains. The SDF allegedly killed over 100 ISIS members in these clashes. In turn, pro-ISIS sources claimed that about 80 ISIS members have been killed.

The numbers provided by the both sides look overestimated. However, according to local sources, heavy clashes really took place in the aforementioned areas.

Since July, the SDF has been facing significant difficulties with its anti-ISIS operation inside Raqqah city. The US-backed group has not been able to break the ISIS defense in Old Raqqah despite an intense US-led coalition air and artillery bombardment in the area yet.

>Iran Builds New Long-Range Missile Facility In Syria – Report

The Israeli media reported on Tuesday that Iran is building a facility in northwest Syria to manufacture long-range missiles and showed satellite images allegedly depicting the site under construction. The images show an alleged missile factory near Baniyas that appears to be identical to Iranian factories built in Tehran.

The construction on the site allegedly started last year and is expected to be finished by the end of 2017.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last week that Iran was strengthening its foothold in Syria as ISIS was losing ground in the country. He added that Israel was watching developments and would act against any threat.

“Our policy is clear: We vehemently oppose the military buildup by Iran and its proxies, primarily Hezbollah, in Syria and we will do whatever it takes to protect Israel’s security,” Netanyahu said.

The Israeli company ImageSat International released images that it said show factories “with great similarity to missile factories in Iran”

>Syrian Army Advance 15Km West Of Al-Kum Village In Homs Province

On Wednesday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces captured a gas facility located 15km west of al-Kawm village in eastern Homs, according to pro-government sources.

The SAA also captured some points from ISIS north of the Sha’er mountain located near the Sha’er gas field.

The Hezbollah media wing in Syria announced that on Wedesday the SAA repelled an attack of ISIS on its position in the Jub al-Mazare’a area northwest of al-Mabujah village in the eastern Hama countryside.

Separately, Russian and Syrian warplanes destroyed many ISIS positions and equipment around Uqayribat town in the eastern Hama countryside.

On August 15, ISIS claimed that 7 Syrian soldiers were killed during an attack by its fighters on SAA positions south of al-Maqhlah bridge in the southern Raqqa countryside.

The ISIS-linked Amaq news agency published photos of weapons and ammunition captured from the SAA during the attack.

Syrian opposition sources claimed yesterday that ISIS was able to recapture Ghanim al-Ali and Abu Hammad villages in the southern Raqqa countryside. However, ISIS has not confirmed these claims yet.

>Syrian Army Captures New Points On Syrian-Jordanian Border

On Wednesday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured all =border posts between the Point 154 and Point 160 on the Syrian-Jordanian border, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.

A border post in the Point 155 is considered the beginning of the Damascus governorate administrative border with Jordan. The Damascus governorate border with Jordan ends in the point-211 which is 55km south of al-Tanf area where US-led collation forces are located.

Meanwhile, US-backed Jaish Assud al-Sharqiah claimed that Syrian Air Force warplanes bombed its position in the Mahrwthah area in Damascus desert.

The SAA may plan to advance from Mahrwthah towards the Jordanian border to meet with its forces advancing on the border line.

Pro-government sourced claimed that the SAA and its allies are advancing north towards al Tanaf base. However, the SAA will likely stop its advance in the Point 211.

>Syrian Army Advances In Ayn Tarma East of Damascus. Militants Blame Government For Alleged Chemical Attacks (Photos, Videos)

On Wednesday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) captured several building blocks north of the Sunbul gas station in Ayn Tarma area east of the capital Damascus, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.

The SAA 4th Armoured Division destroyed several fortifications of Faylaq al-Rahman in Ayn Tarma area and Jobar district with “Volcano” and “Golan” heavy rockets.

15 Syrian soldiers were killed in an ambush in Jobar district, according to Faylaq al-Rahman.

Moreover Faylaq al-Rahman fighters damaged a SAA T-72AV with a SPG-9 recoilless gun in Ayn Tarma area.

Faylaq al-Rahman also claimed that the SAA 4th Armoured Division used chlorine gas against its positions in Ayn Tarma area twice on Wednesday. However, Faylaq al-Rahman didn’t provide any evidence as usual.

Meanwhile, tensions between different armed groups in Eastern Ghouta are still on the raise. Jaish Al Islam accused Faylaq al-Rahman of working with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) to target its areas and leaders.

On August 14 Jaish Al-Islam accused Faylaq al-Rahman and HTS of assassinating one of its high ranked leaders Rida’a Al Harirri “Abu Abd Allah 200”.

>ISIS Claims Killing Of 32 SDF Members In Raqqah City

32 members of the US-backed Syrian Demoractic Forces (SDF) have been killed in the areas of the Great mosque and the Salam hospital in the city of Raqqah, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq.

Amaq claimed that the attacks started with SVBIEDs explosions and continued with a direct assault of the ISIS members. However, the terrorist group was not able to regain any ground from the SDF.

Meanwhile, the US-led coalition airpower and artillery continued shelling the ISIS-held part of the city while the SDF was preparing for another attempt to retake the Old Raqqah area from ISIS. Old Raqqah is one of the key defense sites of ISIS inside the city. If it’s retaken by the SDF, the ISIS defense inside Raqqah may collapse.

The map below provides a sceptic look at the SDF gains inside the city:

>US, UK chemical agents captured from terrorists by Syrian Army

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:10 A.M.) – Evidence has emerged to suggest that the United States and United Kingdom supplied weapons-grade chemical agents to terrorist forces in Syria.

During a press conference in Damascus on Wednesday, Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad stated that chemical agents have been found at arms depots abandoned by militant forces in Aleppo city and the East Ghouta region of Damascus which have trademark signatures that can be traced back to known US and UK chemical weapons laboratories.

According to the Syrian foreign minister, CS and CN type irritants (used in riot control) captured from terrorist arms stockpiles in the newly liberated areas were, after trademark analysis, found to be traceable back to the US-based Federal Laboratories and NonLeathal Technologies tear gas producers and the UK-based Chemring Defence tear gas producer.

Moreover, Mekdad also explained the delivery systems (i.e. types of weapons) in which these chemical agents were found included both hand grenades and rocket projectiles.

The Syrian foreign minister referred to established international regulations on the use of chemical weapons to point out that it is illegal employ riot control irritants in standard warfare conditions. From this he concluded that Western powers and their regional allies had thus not only supported terrorists in Syria by providing them with conventional weapons, but also by supplying them with banned weapons.

>Lebanese Army advances against ISIL near Syrian border-crossing

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:20 A.M.) – The Lebanese Army has intensified their assault against the Islamic State (ISIL) forces near the Syrian border these past 48 hours, scoring a new advance north of the ‘Arsal Barrens.

Backed by heavy artillery, the Lebanese Army killed scores of Islamic State militants while attacking the terrorist group’s posts near the recently liberated Wadi Hmeid area.

According to a Lebanese military communique, their forces liberated several points from the Islamic State militants along the Ras Ba’albak-Jaroud ‘Arsal axis, killing a terrorist commander in the process.

The Lebanese Army is currently attacking the Islamic State’s positions in Ras Ba’albak, hoping to liberate more ground as they continue to tighten the grip around the Syrian border.

>Islamist civil war rages as rival factions attack each other in East Ghouta

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:35 A.M.) – For the fourth day in a row, the Islamist infighting has plagued the East Ghouta region of east Damascus, as rival actions trade attacks in the Al-Asha’ri Farms.

Militants from Faylaq Al-Rahman and Al-Qaeda linked Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launched a powerful attack on Jaysh Al-Islam’s positions in the Al-Asha’ri Farms this morning, resulting in a violent battle for control of this rural area.

While no ground has been reportedly captured these past four days, the two sides have mistakenly paved the way for the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to advance in the east Damascus suburbs.

Jaysh Al-Islam has repeatedly called on Faylaq Al-Rahman to expel HTS from the area; however, the latter refuses to adhere to any of their former ally’s demands.

>Syrian Army halts southeast Raqqa offensive, central Syria new focus

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has officially halted their field operations in the southeastern countryside of the Al-Raqqa Governorate after more than 7 weeks of being on the offensive against the Islamic State (ISIL).

According to a military source, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces have been ordered to halt their advance on Deir Ezzor until the Islamic State’s pocket in central Syria is fully cleared.

The Tiger Forces will now concentrate on the Hama Governorate, where many of their units are currently awaiting orders to storm the strategic town of ‘Uqayrbat.

‘Uqayrbat is considered the most important town under the Islamic State’s control because it is located along several roadways that flow through the Al-Raqqa and Homs governorates.

>Supplies of toxic agents to Syria violate Chemical Weapons Convention – Russian UN envoy

Supplies of toxic substances to Syria from the United Kingdom and the United States, should they be proved, will be considered a violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said on Wednesday, commenting on Damascus’s statement that such weapons have been found at arms depots abandoned by militants.

He said that at Wednesday’s closed-door meeting of the United Nations Security Council had not discussed this topic. “I saw it on the news, but we did not discuss it,” he said after the meeting.

When asked by TASS whether such supplies could be seen as a violation of the convention, he answered in the positive. “Naturally, but we must have evidence proving it,” he added.

In his words, the Joint Mechanism of the United Nations and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons can be tasked to investigate these reports. “It might be within the competences of the OPCW-UN Joint Investigative Mechanism,” the Russian diplomat noted.

On Wednesday, Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said at a news conference that chemical weapons from the United Kingdom and United States had been found in areas liberated from terrorists. He particularly mentioned hand grenades and munitions for grenade launchers filled with the CN and CS gas.

According to Mekdad, these chemical weapons were produced by the US Federal Laboratories and Non-Lethal Technologies, as well as by UK’s Cherming Defence. He reminded that under Article 5 of the Chemical Weapons Convention irritants can be used only as an anti-riot means and are prohibited as a means of warfare.

A spokesman for the UK permanent mission to the United Nations told TASS earlier that the country was supplying lethal weapons, including chemical, to neither of the warring parties in Syria.

The Fact-Finding Mission of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the OPCW-UN Joint Investigative Mechanism are investigating reports about the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

A well-informed source from the UN told TASS that representatives from the latter are going to visit Syria next week to examine the weapons found at militants’ arms depots.

>Breaking: Syrian Army makes a huge advance in central Syria

BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has once against made a massive advance in central Syria after launching a major attack inside the Hama Governorate this morning.

Led by elements of 38th Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the southern countryside of Ithriya, striking the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions at the Bir Al-Seed area.

Within hours of launching the attack, the Syrian Arab Army had broken-through the Islamic State’s front-lines, liberating Bir Al-Seed, Bir Al-Aqar, Rajm Al-Hajjanah, and Al-Fasidah Mountain after a fierce battle.

According to a military source, the Syrian Arab Army is now targeting the Bilaas Mountain, which is the key to splitting the Islamic State’s central Syria pocket.

>Infighting renewed in Eastern Ghouta after aid convoys enter rebel stronghold (+ Photos)

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:00 P.M.) – Clashes re-erupted between the two major rebel groups in Eastern Ghouta after aid convoys made it to the insurgent bastion of Douma.

Up to 48 trucks carrying food, medicine and basic supplies entered Douma this morning through Al-Wafideen Camp crossing point in order to later distributed in Douma, Shifuniyah and hawsh al-Dawahra; all under Jaish al-Islam control.

This comes as part of the recently agreed-upon de-escalation zone agreement between the Syrian government and Jaish al-Islam under Russian supervision.

Meanwhile, clashes broke out between Jaish al-Islam and its rival rebel group Failaq al-Rahman in different parts of the Eastern Ghouta region.

Local activists accused Jaish al-Islam of concluding a secret alliance with the Syrian government to eliminate both Failaq al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham; the al-Qaeda Syrian branch.

The same activists supported their allegation of excluding Jobar, Irbin and Ayn Tarma from the de-escalation zone agreement; all of the aforementioned towns are under the control of Failaq al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir.

Reports had it that a comprehensive reconciliation agreement is being prepared by the Syria-based Russian Center for Reconciliation to be later concluded by Jaish al-Islam and the Syrian government.

>Unidentified airstrikes hit ISIS in southwest Syria

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4: 40 P.M,) – Dozens of ISIS jihadists have been killed and injured as their positions in southwest Syria were bombed by a jet fighter.

The pro-rebel Qasious news agency said a fighter jet for the US-led coalition bombed ISIS positions in Shajra town located in the western countryside of Daraa province.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed the airstrike without identifying whether it was carried out by the coalition.

Earlier in June, SOHR said that a fighter jet – believed to be affiliated with the US-led coalition – had conducted an airstrike targeting a HQ for ISIS where a meeting for senior officials was held.

The airstrike killed the supreme commander of Jaish Khalid Ibn al-Walid; a Salafi group affiliated with the Islamic State, along with other high-ranking officials.

>Large Syrian military convoy arrives in western Qalamoun for Lebanese border offensive

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 P.M.) – A large convoy consisting of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) personnel arrived in the western part of the Qalamoun Mountains, today, a military source told Al-Masdar this afternoon.

The pro-government reinforcements were sent to this front to aid in the upcoming offensive on the Lebanese border.

In particular, the Syrian military and Hezbollah are gearing up for one last showdown with the Islamic State (ISIL) in the Jarajeer and Qarah barrens, which have long been under the control of the terrorist group.

Once the Jarajeer and Qarah barrens are cleared of all ISIL terrorists, the Syrian government will have full control of the Lebanese border for the first time since 2011.

>Syrian Democratic Forces Reportedly Captured 65% Of Old Raqqa (Video)

On Thursday, Kurdish sources claimed that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have captured 60% of Raqqa city and over 65% of the Old Raqqah area in the center of the city so far.

The SDF claimed its fighters killed over 100 ISIS fighters in the last 24 hours mainly in the northern and western parts of the city.

On August 16, the ISIS-linked Amaq news agency claimed that 32 SDF fighters were killed or injured after an ISIS VBIED targeted their position near “al-Jamia’a al Kabaier” – the Grand Mosque – in the eastern part of Raqqa city. Amaq also announced that another VBIED targeted a SDF position near al-Salam hospital in the center of Raqqa city.

The US-led collation said that its warplanes conducted 20 airstrikes in the last 24 hours on ISIS positions in Raqqa city. Opposition sources claimed that at least 14 civilians were killed in the few last days due to the US airstrikes on Raqqa city.

The SDF is now advancing in the center of Raqqa city in order to capture the old Raqqa area which is considered the most fortified area in the city.

>Syrian War Report – August 17, 2017: Iran Builds Long-Range Missile Factory In Syria

https://youtu.be/ACVM7qF3RAA

Government forces, led by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) captured more points north of the Sunbul gas station in the Ayn Tarma area in eastern Damascus. The advance came amid intense shelling of Faylaq al-Rahman positions in Ayn Tarma and Jobar conducted by the SAA 4th Armoured Division with “Volcano” and “Golan” heavy rockets.

Faylaq al-Rahman claimed that its members killed 17 SAA troops and damaged an SAA T-72AV battle tank in the recent clashes and once again accused the government forces of using chlorine gas in the area.

The chemical weapons usage accusations are a common part of PR strategy of any anti-government forces around Syria. The accusations have become especially frequent after the US missile strike on the Syrian Air Force’s Shayrat Air Base that followed the incident at Khan Shaykhun.

In Homs province, the SAA Tiger Forces liberated a gas station southwest of the Kawm oasis and advanced on the Minshar Mount and the nearby village of Taybah. Meanwhile, the SAA and its allies advanced against ISIS north of the Shair Mount. Both of the advances are a part of the wider SAA effort aimed at establishing control over entirety of eastern Homs which should create a foothold for further advance on Deir Ezzor.

The Israeli media reported that Iran is building a facility in northwest Syria to manufacture long-range missiles and showed satellite images allegedly depicting the site under construction. The images show an alleged missile factory near Baniyas which appears to be identical to Iranian factories built in Tehran. The construction on the site allegedly started last year and is expected to be finished by the end of 2017.

Earlier reports appeared that Iran was allegedly building subterranean weapons factories for Hezbollah in Lebanon. At least one of the factories was reportedly located near Hermel in the eastern Bekaa Valley and was used to produce Fateh-110 medium-range missiles.

If reports are confirmed, this will be just another indication of the growing Iranian influence in the region. Success of the Russian-Iranian-Syrian operations against ISIS and al-Qaeda are one of the reasons behind this progress.

Last week Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu once again stated Iran was strengthening its foothold in Syria as ISIS was losing ground in the country. He added that Israel was watching developments and would act against any threat to Israel’s security.

>Liberation Of Hama Countryside To Free Between 3000 And 5000 Pro-Government Fighters For Operations Across Syria

On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies besieged ISIS fighters in the eastern Hama countryside, according to pro-government sources.

The ISIS last supply route to the eastern Hama countryside was cut off after SAA unites advanced from Jabal Shaer and meet with their counterparts advancing from Jabal Sawwanah south the Ithriya town.

The Hezbollah media wing in Syria announced on Thursday that the SAA captured Bir Al-Syd, Bir Al Ewra, Rujm Al Hajan and Jabal Al Fasid in the eastern Hama countryside. Moreover, the SAA captured Sawwanah village and Jabal Be’las in the northeastern Homs countryside.

A pro-government media activist among SAA troops said that the capture of eastern Hama countryside will free up between 3000 and 5000 SAA soldiers and National Defense Force (NDF) fighters, plus over 200 armoured vehicles and tanks.

The ISIS-linked Amaq news agency didn’t report any news from the eastern Hama countryside today so far. This could mean that ISIS already withdrew a major part of its fighters from the area.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the National Defense Forces (NDF) and other pro-government factions have reportedly retaken control of the Fasidah Mount, Sawwanat al-Qusayr and reached Bir al-Fasidah from ISIS in the province of Homs.

Thus government forces dramatically reduced the distance to SAA units at the Shaer Mount and cut off the ISIS supply line to the terrorist group stronghold of Uqayrabat in the eastern Hama countryside.

This is a significant development that could become a first step in the liberation of the entire Hama countryside from ISIS terorirsts.

>Breaking: ISIL’s on the verge of encirclement in central Syria
BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:35 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is cruising through the southern countryside of Al-Raqqa, liberating a significant amount of territory from the remaining Islamic State (ISIL) terrorists in this region.

Backed by Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army attacked the Tuwinan Gas Factory and Gas Fields near the Homs Governorate’s border this evening, resulting in a fierce battle with the Islamic State forces.

Following the intense clashes, the Syrian Arab Army broke-through the Islamic State’s lines and liberated the Tuwinan Gas Factory and Gas Fields, paving their way to a large number of oil fields in near the Raqqa-Homs axis.

According to a military source, the Syrian Arab Army has since liberated the Al-Akram Oil Field, Al-Ghader Gas Field, and Tuwinan Station, leaving only a short distance between their forces in Al-Raqqa and Homs.

At the same time, the Syrian Arab Army’s 38th Brigade of the 4th Division scored a new advance south of the Ithriya-Raqqa Highway, liberating more than 13km of territory between the Ithriya-Tuwinan region, along with the Al-Karim area.

A military source told Al-Masdar that the Islamic State is now almost besieged in central Homs and east Hama; however, he added that the Syrian Army is pressuring ISIL to retreat before they close the gap in order to avoid a long battle.

>Elite Syrian Army unit liberates new areas north of Sukhnah, city official secured

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:50 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their advance north of Al-Sukhnah, liberating new areas after a fierce battle with the so-called Islamic State (ISIL).

Led by the elite 800th Regiment of Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army pushed north of Al-Sukhnah today, attacking the Al-Saroukh area that is about 15km away from the former ISIL stronghold.

According to a military source in Palmyra, the Syrian Arab Army liberated the Al-Saroukh Checkpoint and several other sites after overrunning the terrorist group’s defenses.

The source added that at least five Islamic State terrorists were killed and two technical vehicles fitted with 23mm anti-aircraft machine guns were destroyed.

As a result of tonight’s advance, the Syrian Arab Army has now fully secured Al-Sukhnah, as ISIL is no longer able to launch missiles into the city.

Furthermore, the Syrian Army is inching close to sealing the area between Taybah and Resafa, leaving only a small opening for ISIL to retreat.

According to a military source, the Syrian Arab Army has since liberated the Al-Akram Oil Field, Al-Ghader Gas Field, West Hussein Oil Field and Tuwinan Station, leaving only a short distance between their forces in Al-Raqqa and Homs.

>Unreal footage of the Russian Air Force annihilating ISIL terrorists in central Syria

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:15 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force has given no quarter to Islamic State (ISIL) militants, as their planes work night and day to hunt the terrorist group in the vast desert region of central Syria.

On Thursday afternoon, the Syrian Free News YouTube channel released exclusive footage from August 16th of a Russian aircraft targeting an Islamic State unit that was preparing to conduct a counter-attack north of Al-Sukhnah.

The three minute long footage released by the Syrian Free News channel showed the Russian Air Force scoring direct hits on several Islamic State targets, including a number of armored vehicle.

The Russian Air Force is once again pounding the northern countryside of Al-Sukhnah, hunting down Islamic State convoys attempting to reinforce their front-lines against the Syrian Arab Army and their allies.

>US And ISIS: Unannounced Allies Against Syrian Arab Army

The article is provided by Islamic World News exclusively for SouthFront

Less than a year ago, US-led coalition warplanes bombed Syrian Arab Army positions in the vicinity of Deir Ezzor city and its airbase which are both besieged by ISIS over 3 years.

With the death of the city’s defenders, ISIS easily took control of a territory that located close to the airbase.

ISIS had conducted over than 100 suicide attacks against government forces defending the airbase and the part of the city that still under the control of the Syrian forces but was unable to overrun the SAA defense.

However, the US airstrikes dramatically changed the situation in the area. Over 80 elite SAA troops that resisted ISIS for years died in that attack.

The US-led coalition said that it was a mistake.

This claim was ridiculous. If they in that same day searched the phrase “the updated Syrian civil war map” in Google, they would’ve easily found the location of the government forces and avoided comitting such a mistake.

“Accident airstrikes” on SAA targets when the frontline does not change for a very long time is hardly possible.

>US-led Collation conduct Airstrikes on ISIS Positions in Daraa

On Thursday, opposition activists claimed that US-led coalition warplanes conducted multiple airstrike on ISIS-affiliated Jaysh Khalid in Shajra town in the western Daraa countryside. So far, the US-led collation has not officially confirmed or denied these claims.

The US-led collation destroyed an ISIS jail in Shajra town. 12 people were killed and 10 others were injured as a result of the bombing, according to local sources. The sources added that at least 16 civilian prisoners from al-Baridi family went missing after the airstrike.

Jaish Khaled Leader Wael Obaid “Abu Taim Inkhel” was reportedly killed in one of the US-led collation airstrikes too.

The airstrikes also destroyed a building of the Jaish Khaled Sharia court killing a number of Jaish Khaled sharia judges, according to an opposition activist.

On August 16, Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters launched a security campaign in Nasib town in the southern Daraa countryside near the Syrian-Jordanian border against the local ISIS cell. The campaign came after 23 Jaish al-Islam fighters were killed in an ISIS suicide attack in Nasib on August 12.

>Syrian Army Makes Large Gains In Eastern Homs Countryside (Maps)

On Thursday, they Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that the Syrian Arab Army captured the Tuweiyan gas factory, the Tuweiyan gas field, the Akram gas field, the Husain gas field, the Ghadur gas field and the Tuweiyan station in the northeastern Homs countryside.

The SAA also captured the Al-Saroukh area 15km north of Sukhnah town in the eastern Homs countryside, according to pro-government sources.

Moreover, the SAA captured 13km of the Ithryah-Tuweiyan-al-Karime road and many strategic heights in the eastern Hama countryside.

According to Syrian Ministry of Defense statement, the SAA destroyed 15 armed vehicles of ISIS and removed dozens of IEDs and mines that was planted in the gas fields.

Meanwhile, Russian and Syrian warplanes conducted dozens of airstrikes against ISIS positions in Ma’adan town in the northwestern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to opposition sources.

Some pro-government sources expected that the SAA will capture all ISIS-held areas in the eastern Hama countryside including the strategic Uqayribat town within days after successfully besieging ISIS in it. However, these expectations may not turn to be real if ISIS members decide to defeat the area till the death.

The thing is I still think the Obango adm put them in as a fail safe humanitarian intervention group. A way to get involved if it looked like the SAA is about to regain full control over Syria. Think about it the US just wants the region to continue to be in chaos since it benefits the MIC and keeps Iran from forming a strong coalition against Israel and Arabia. The US will have the K*rds continue to claim independence and will threaten war if Assad wants to regain his rightful clay.

>Inb4 Obango is no longer in charge

Well Trump has shown that he is willing to stick with long term US strategy which was shown with the missile strike. I hate it since I voted for him to get ride of it but you can only ask for so much.

>US forces to occupy Syria for decades to come

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – According to Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) spokesman Talal Silo, the strategic interests of the United States in Syria dictate that its forces will continue to occupy the northern regions of the country, in collusion with Kurdish separatist wishes, for many decades to come.

According to the SDF representative, Washington will continue to develop its strategic policies in SDF-occupied northern Syria via various military and economic cooperation initiatives with Kurdish-dominated political structures that have been established under the Democratic Union Party (PYD) long after ISIS in gone.

In the past, Silo has openly admitted that the SDF is a tool of American foreign policy in Syria and that the alliance group is forbidden by its US handlers from cooperating with either the Damascus government or Russia.

The announcement by Silo comes around the same time British Army representative for Operation Inherent Resolve Major General Rupert Jones said that the US-led coalition (supposedly against ISIS) would not allow “Syrian regime forces” to move north of the Euphrates River (into SDF-occupied regions). In doing so, Jones essential confirmed suspicions long-expressed by pro-Damascus analysts that Western powers (led by US) pursue a second unspoken policy in Syria aimed at preventing government forces from restoring sovereignty in the country’s northern regions.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 A.M.) – Images have been released by the propaganda arm of the Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terrorist group, the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda, preparing their new fighters for combat at a training camp in northern Latakia Governorate.

These pictures come at a time when rebel media sources in Idlib are reporting that HTS – the most powerful of all the militant groups in the region – are preparing a new offensive operation against pro-government forces.

The images show well-equipped soldiers undergoing a seated class in tactical doctrine, carrying out marching drills, engaging in live fire exercises and taking on a team-based obstacle course.

>Syrian Army, Hezbollah shatter ISIS lines in west Qalamoun

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah have commenced their long-awaited offensive against ISIS in Syria’s western Qalamoun region which is aimed at liberating the areas of Jaroud Jarajeer and Jaroud Qarah near the border with Lebanon.

Today the combined forces of the SAA and Hezbollah secured the Shabat Younes hills as well as the areas of Harf Wadi al-Dib, Shabat al-Mahbas al-Awla, Harf al-Hashishat and Qarnt al-Hashishat from ISIS terrorists.

Pro-government forces were propelled by round-the-clock Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) airstrikes which hit ISIS tactical positions and militant gathering points.

By today’s advance, pro-government forces have smashed most of the first defense belt held by ISIS in western Qalamoun.

In hindsight of the large push accomplished today, pro-government sources are now speculating that the SAA and Hezbollah should soon liberate all of the Jaroud Jarajeer and Jaroud Qarah areas of western Qalamoun.

>BREAKING: Syrian Army reaches ‘Uqrayribat outskirts in east Hama amid total ISIS collapse

BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:07 P.M.) – After a series of major advances by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) against ISIS militants in eastern Hama Governorate yesterday, government forces have since pushed deeper into the region, de facto encircling it by either physical ground control or by fire control and reaching the outskirts of ‘Uqrayribat – a key Islamic State stronghold in the now besieged area.

This latest successful advance comes amid a general collapse of ISIS resistance in eastern Hama after all of the jihadist group’s lines of communication to and from the region were cut.

Reports say that ISIS has started retreating from the town of Uqrayribat, a settlement which represents the center point of the terrorist group’s defensive network in eastern Hama. If true then jihadist militants are clearly hoping to escape certain doom even if it means transiting routes that are (as mentioned earlier) nonetheless under the fire-control of the SAA.

According to a military source exclusive to Al-Masdar News, army forces have reached the outskirts of ‘Uqrayribat from two sides.

The source added that ‘Uqrayribat should be liberated within 2 days, if not less.

>Syrian Army liberates vast territory from ISIS in central Homs

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:05 P.M.) – With ISIS resistance in central Syria experiencing total collapse amid a number of mammoth advances by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in eastern Hama Governorate, government troops near the town of Faraqlas have capitalized on the situation by liberating vast tracks of territory north of the Homs to Palmyra highway

Today, army forces in central Homs Governorate advanced against ISIS securing the strategic areas of al-Taliah al-Gharbiyah and al-Taliah al-Sharqiyah which are located to the east of Shumariyah mountain chain (northwest of the T-4 Airbase).

Despite the fact that ISIS forces in the region are being totally routed, the advance made in central Homs today was nonetheless contested by the terrorist group, only being achieved after SAA troops killed and injured dozens of jihadist fighters.

As the SAA squeezes Islamic State militants in eastern Hama, so to can it be expected that army units in central Homs will apply equal pressure simultaneously to ensure the rapid and total destruction of all remaining jihadist forces throughout the region.

>Syria: Damascus International Fair makes comeback after five years

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Damascus International Fair opened in the Syrian capital, Thursday, after five years of forced absence due to the conflict which has ravaged the country.

The fair used to be an important economic event for the Middle Eastern country before fighting broke out.

Some 23 countries are taking part in the fair this year, including Western nations such as Britain, France and Germany.

The Damascus trade fair is the oldest in the Middle East, dating back to 1954. The fair last took place in 2011, just months before war broke out in the region.

The fair runs for 10 days with sectors ranging from the textile to the agricultural industry.

>Breaking: Large rebel group joins de-escalation agreement in East Ghouta

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:50 P.M.) – Faylaq Al-Rahman has accepted terms to join the de-escalation agreement in the eastern suburbs of Damascus, Friday, after successful negotiations with the Russian reconciliation committee.

The de-escalation agreement will include all areas of the East Ghouta region that have a Faylaq Al-Rahman presence; however, it will not include any site that the Al-Qaeda linked Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham militants are occupying.

This is an important part of the agreement because Faylaq Al-Rahman is embedded with Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham in the East Ghouta; specifically, they share trenches in the strategic suburb of Jobar.

Al-Masdar reached out to a Syrian military source in Damascus for further information about the de-escalation agreement in the East Ghouta.

The source confirmed that all fronts with Faylaq Al-Rahman will be a ceasefire zone, except for any area with a Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham presence.

>ISIS’ days numbered in central Homs as Syrian Army cuts off massive pocket

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6:45 P.M.) – Moments ago, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) severed nearly one hundred ISIS-held villages in central Syria from the Islamic State mainland further east.

According to Al-Masdar News correspondent Ibrahim Joudeh, a long-standing jihadist controlled region that stretches from eastern Hama to central Homs has been entirely encircled by the SAA due to a broad front offensive entailing multiple simultaneous pincers over the past week.

The military source said SAA troops pushed north of the Al-Shaer Mountain and met up with the SAA’s Tiger Forces that in the same time pushed south of Ithriyah, thereby cutting off all ISIS roads leading from Deir Ezzor to the oil-rich pocket in central Syria that remains anchored around the by now vulnerable Islamic State stronghold of Uqraybat.

A second smaller ISIS enclave has also formed south of the Ithriyah-Zakia highway due to a second government push led by Major General Suheil Al-Hassan.

In the coming weeks, the SAA hopes to eliminate both pockets and expel ISIS from central Syria once and for all. Once this task is achieved, government forces will free up tens of thousands of troops for an eastern thrust that aims to secure Deir Ezzor city.

>In pictures: ISIS refuses to surrender in face of Kurdish assault on Raqqa city

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (7:10 P.M.) – Despite facing overwhelming odds, the Islamic State is putting up a stubborn fight for Raqqa, a city in northern Syria which ISIS claimed as its capital back in 2014.

A series of brand new images released by Amaq Agency show jihadist insurgents using different types of weaponry to combat the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a fighting force which is considered one of the primary partners for the US-led coalition

With the SDF slowly pushing towards the densely populated residential areas of downtown Raqqa, ISIS commanders have increased their deployment of suicide bombers in a strategic move aimed at discouraging the predominately Kurdish assault force.

At the moment, jihadist belligerents cling on to roughly half of the provincial capital while Kurdish troops have secured most of the outer suburbs. Tens of thousands of refugees have also fled towards Kurdish-held areas, looking to escape the ongoing battle.

Not long ago, ISIS published a video featuring an Australian ISIS jihadist in Raqqa city who called on foreign fighters to aid the self-declared caliphate by any means, whether through terrorism or actually joining its ranks in Syria.

>Syrian Army scores big advance in strategic east Damascus suburb

BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:05 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scored another major advance in the eastern suburbs of Damascus this week, capturing new ground in Jobar after a fierce battle with Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Faylaq Al-Rahman fighters.

Led by the 40th and 42nd brigades of the 4th Division, the Syrian Arab Army pushed east from the Al-Manasher Roundabout towards the strategic Ataya Buildings, where they were confronted by a large Faylaq Al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham force.

Intense clashes would ensue for several hours on Friday before the Syrian Arab Army was able to break-through the enemy’s front-lines and capture several buildings at the outskirts of the Ataya area.

During this operation in Jobar on Friday, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division managed to kill several Islamist rebels near the Ataya area, including the Faylaq Al-Rahman commander ‘Ali Al-Zibaq.

The Ataya Buildings overlook a large portion of Jobar, which makes it a primary objective for the Syrian Arab Army’s High Command in Damascus.

On Friday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the National Defense Forces (NDF), Hezbollah and other pro-government groups, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, continued crushing ISIS in the province of Homs.

The SAA and its allies liberated the Najib gas gathering station and the Najib gas field east of the recently liberated town of Sukha.

Government forces also liberated the areas of Taliah Sharqiyah and Taliah Gharbi south of the ISIS-held town of Uqayrabat increasing pressure on the terrorists deployed there.

On Thursday, the SAA, the NDF and their allies cut off the only ISIS supply line to Uqayrabat encircling ISIS units in the area. On Friday, government forces continued developing momentum aiming to liberate the entire eastern Hama countryside.

>Russian Defense Ministry: ISIS Terrorists Fleing Uqayrabat Besieged By Syrian Army

ISIS terrorists are fleing Uqayrabat after the Syrian Army besieged the ISIS-held town and the nearby area on Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry has announced.

The Russian Defense Ministry officially announced that the only ISIS supply line to the area had been cutt off.

“Due to the successful operation of the Syrian military, the last route the militants used for supplies of weapons, ammunition and other assets near Uqayrabat is under the fire control of the Syrian military.”

According to the ministry, ISIS terrorists in small groups take cars, buses and armored vehicles to head to Deir Ezzor. In turn, the Russian Aerospace Forces conduct “the round-clock air reconnaissance with use of drones to reveal and destroy the armored vehicles, off-road vehicles with heavy weapons and the cars the terrorists are using.”

>Syrian War Report – August 18, 2017: Syrian Army Delivers Devastating Blow To ISIS In Homs Province

https://youtu.be/s8ZkfLHwraI

Pro-government forces, led by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces and Hezbollah, and supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have delivered a devastating blow to ISIS terrorists in the province of Homs.

According to the Syrian Defense Ministry, pro-government fighters have liberated the Tuweiyan gas factory, the Tuweiyan gas field, the Akram gas field, the Husain gas field, the Ghadur gas field and the Tuweiyan station. The SAA reportedly destroyed 15 armed vehicles of ISIS and removed dozens of IEDs and mines planted in the gas fields.

Separately, pro-government forces liberated Sawwanat Husayyah, Tall Husayyah, Sawwanat al-Qusayr and the nearby points and cut off the only ISIS supply line to the key ISIS-held village of Uqayrabat. According to some pro-government sources, ISIS is now fully encircled there. However, Uqayrabat and nearby villages are located in a stiff terrain that could contribute to a possible delay of the SAA operation in the area.

According to pro-government sources, the liberation of the Uqayrabat area will allow to shorten the frontline and to free between 3,000 and 5,000 fighters and about 200 vehicles and battle tanks for operations across Syria.

Later, the SAA and its allies took control of the Nabij gas gathering station east of Sukhna further contributing to a possible push to encircle the rest of the ISIS-held area north of Palmyra via capturing the Sukhna-Resafa road.

Government troops also seized Talalat Durub near Humaymah further tightening the siege on the ISIS-held village. When Humaymah is liberated, they will likely focus on liberating the T2 pumping station area near the border with Iraq.

Pro-Kurdish sources claim that the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have liberated about 60% of the city of Raqqah including over a half of the Old Raqqah area, which is a key ISIS defense point inside the city. The SDF allegedly killed over 100 ISIS members in the recent clashes in the northern and western parts of Raqqah.

The SDF, backed up by the US-led coalition airpower, artillery and military advisers, has a upper hand in the battle against ISIS. However, a high number of propaganda disseminated by the both sides and a lack of video and photo evidence do not allow to provide a precise look at the real military situation in Old Raqqah and the nearby area.

>Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham Cracks Down Alleged Syrian Intelligence Cell In Idlib

On Friday, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) border security commander, Adeb Abbas, announced that HTS arrested an abduction cell of 4 members that was kidnaping HTS fighters in Idlib governorate. Abbas claimed that the cell worked for the Syrian government.

Abbas also claimed that the cell handed over many HTS fighters to the Syrian authorities. Two HTS fighters were freed during the HTS raid on the cell position, according to Abbas statement.

The cell used to drug HTS fighter before moving them to the government-held area, according to opposition sources. However, the method used by the cell to attract HTS fighters was not revealed.

Abbas said the cell members will face a Sharia’a court (an Islamic court). So far, no officials from the Syrian government have commented on these claims.

Last month HTS launched a security operation against ISIS in Idlib province. HTS tries to promote itself as the protector of Idlib governorate and the only legitimate power there. However, many see HTS behavior as a replica of what ISIS did in 2014.

>Syrian Army Captures More Buldings In Eastern Damascus, Faylaq al-Rahman Claims 30 Govt Soldiers Killed

On Friday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) captured several buildings east of the al-Manasher roundabout in the southern part of Jobar district east of Damascus, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria. The SAA also destroyed several fortified positions of Faylaq al-Rahman with Syrian-made Golan heavy rockets, according to pro-government sources.

On August 17, Faylaq al-Rahman claimed that more than 30 Syrian soldiers from SAA 4th division were killed as a result of clashes in Jobar district and Ayn Tarma area east of Damascus. Faylaq al-Rahman also claimed that its fighters destroyed a bulldozer and a tank of the 4th division.

Meanwhile, dozens of civilians protested in Saqbah town in the Eastern Ghouta region against Jaysh al-Islam, according to opposition sources. The sources added that the protestors accused Jaysh al-Islam of killing Faylaq al-Rahman fighters.

During the last few days the Eastern Ghouta region witnessed intense clashes between Jaysh al-Islam and a collation of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and Faylaq al-Rahman. During these clashes at least three commanders of Jaysh al-Islam were killed .

Some sides in the opposition believe that Jaysh al-Islam is working to eliminate Faylaq al-Rahman in order to impose it full control on the Eastern Ghouta region and securing a good deal with Russia.

>US-led Collation Killed 946 Civilians In Raqqa City Since June – Report

On Friday, the pro-opposition “Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently” activist group released an infographic claiming that 946 civilians had been killed and 1000 others had been injured as a result of US-led collation airstrikes since the beginning of Raqqa city battle on June 9.

The Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently also claimed that US-led collation warplanes had conducted 1267 airstrikes on targets in Raqqa city so far.

At least 30,000 civilians are still trapped inside Raqqa city, according to the Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently infographic.

Meanwhile, local sources from Raqqa city claimed that US-led collation airstrikes had killed no less than 100 civilians in the last 72 hours. US-led collation warplanes allegedly conducted 53 airstrikes on Raqqa city in the last 48 hours.

“The US-led collation airstrike targeted a building in al-Tawsia’a district near Mwauia’a school, 23 civilians from al-Inizi family were killed among them 13 child, others were injured,” a local source told the US-based SkyNews network.

Separately, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) claimed that its fighters evacuated more than 50 civilians from the ISIS-controlled al-Shahadat district in Raqqa city. Earlier, the SDF announced that it had formed trained groups to evacuate civilians from the ISIS-lhed area inside Raqqa city.

The civilian death toll is expected to go higher. The Raqqa battle is far from being over as many SDF officials said before.

>Fighting Between Faylaq al-Rahman And Jaysh al-Islam Erupts Once Again In Eastern Ghouta

On Thursday, Faylaq al-Rahman claimed in an official statement that Jaysh al-Islam had attacked its positions in Al Aftaris and al Mohamdiah farms in the Eastern Ghouta region.

Faylaq al-Rahman also claimed that Jaysh al-Islam attack coincided with an attack of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in Jobar district and Ayn Tarma area east of Damascus.

“Jaysh al-Islam lost its credibility … its conspiracies on the revolution and rebels and its open war on them become clear,” Faylaq al-Rahman statement said.

Spokesperson for Faylaq al-Rahman Waiel Olwan claimed that Jaysh al-Islam captured 40 Faylaq al-Rahman fighters during the attack.

Jaysh al-Islam spokesperson Hamza Berkdar announced that Jaysh al-Islam repelled an attack of Faylaq al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) on its positions in Masraba and al-Ashari towns in Eastern Ghouta.

Berkdar revealed that Faylaq al-Rahman and HTS killed two leaders of Jaysh al-Islam Marwan al-Nakshbandi “Abu al-Noor al-Taia’ar” and Ehssan Layla “Abu Mahmmod 07” on August 15.

Meanwhile, a report of the Syrian newspaper “al-Watan” claimed that Faylaq al-Rahman might join the de-escalation agreement in Eastern Ghouta.

However, a military source told al-Watan that there is no official information about this yet.

“We didn’t receive anything about this, we will continued to fight al-Nusra –HTS- and Faylaq al-Rahman until we receive a different orders”.

I'd like to point out that these reports of US airstrikes near al-Kadir are unconfirmed

>Breaking: US Coalition bombs Syrian Army near ISIL lines in southern Raqqa – [unconfirmed]

BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) – The U.S. Coalition has bombed the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in the southern countryside of the Al-Raqqa Governorate tonight, a local journalist reported minutes ago.

According to a journalist embedded with the Tiger Forces in southern Al-Raqqa, the U.S. Coalition bombed the Syrian Arab Army’s Tarameeh Group inside the town of Al-Kader, which is located along the Raqqa-Homs border.

The journalist added that preliminary reports from the area indicate that several casualties were caused by the U.S.’ attack tonight.

The area bombed the U.S. Coalition has no Kurdish presence; therefore, the attack occurred in a region of Syria that is monitored by the Russian military.

The bombing remains unconfirmed at the moment, as the SAA’s High Command has not confirmed this attack.

More details to come…

>US-led Coalition Warplanes Bomb Syrian Army In Kadir Village In Central Syria. ISIS Attack Follows – Reports

Warplanes of the US-led coalition have carried out airstrikes on the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces in the village of Kadir in the province of Homs, according to pro-government sources.

The airstrikes were reportdly followed by an ISIS attack in the area. Kadir is an important village located at the Resafa-Sukhna road, north of the Kawm oasis.

If reports are confirmed, it will be another sign of the long-standing US campaign aimed at undermining the anti-ISIS efforts of the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance in the war-torn country.

Earlier, spokesperson for the United States Department of State, Heather Nauert, said that the US has no plans to remain in Syria after ISIS is defeated. How could such statements be reliable amid the US actions on the ground?
https://southfront.org/us-led-coalition-warplanes-bomb-syrian-army-in-kadir-vilalge-in-central-syria-isis-attack-follows-reports/

It's likely they took a big SVBIED to the face or some such, and were wanting to blame OIR. The fact that the Syrian MOD and the RuMOD haven't confirmed these reports leads me to think that the incident never happened.

>Iraqi military begins important offensive to expel ISIL from northwest Iraq

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:55 A.M.) – The Iraqi Armed Forces kicked off their long-awaited Tal ‘Afar offensive in the northwestern countryside of the Nineveh Governorate, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-‘Abadi announced this morning.

Led by the Federal Police and Iraqi Army, the armed forces stormed the Tal ‘Afar area from several axes, inflicting heavy damage on the Islamic State’s (ISIL) defenses.

According to the Iraqi military, their forces have already liberated the Al-‘Abrah Al-Saghirah area near Tal ‘Afar after overrunning the terrorist group’s positions near the city.

Once the Iraqi military takes control of Tal’Afar, the Islamic State will find themselves in serious trouble, as the former clears the remaining pockets of resistance in the Nineveh Governorate.

>ISIS suffers heavy losses in Deir Ezzor city as the Syrian Army strikes back

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:45 P.M.) – ISIS insurgents were given no safe haven in eastern Syria over the past 24 hours as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its airforce repeatedly pounded jihadist supply lines, command centers and fortifications.

According to Al-Masdar News field correspondent Ibrahim Joudeh, at least 20 ISIS militants were killed on Saturday alone primarily due to airstrikes and artillery bombings.

One jihadist gathering was wiped out at the cemetery area southwest of the city itself while over a handful of aerial sorties pounded the Huwyqa neighborhood.

Dozens of artillery shells also landed on Huwyjat Al-Mariyah, Tall Aloush and Al-Itsalat, looking to discourage jihadist belligerents from restarting their offensive.

In total, two armored vehicles were destroyed and five trenches obliterated by the SAA’s bombardment. Pinpoint airstrikes also took out two rearguard ISIS field guns.

A few days ago, the SAA’s garrison in Deir Ezzor managed to cross the Euphrates River and infiltrate Sakr Island, thereby fighting back against ISIS. Two government pockets remain under siege in the region, one around the city’s western suburbs and another around its airbase.

>ISIS enclave in eastern Hama diminishing as Syrian Army takes over more territories

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:55 P.M.) – Having encircled dozens of the Islamic State militants in a small pocket in the eastern countryside of Hama, the Syrian Army began – this morning – a daring operation to storm the ISIS-held territories.

According to a military source, the government forces managed to recapture 3 towns inside the pocket after fierce clashes with the terror group.

” Al-Dakiylah Al-Shamaliyah, Al-Dakiylah Al-janoubyah and Um Hariteen have come entirely under the Army’s control,” the source told AMN.

The source added that battles are still ongoing on several axes which leaves the door open for more advance.

The Syrian Army, backed by allied forces and Russian Air Force, launched a full-scale offensive to oust the Islamic State from the stretching east Hama countryside as part of a wider offensive to reach the embattled city of Deir Ezzor.

>Suheil ‘The Tiger’ al-Hassan Receives Award Weapon From Russian Head of General Staff (Video)

Brigadier General Suheil ‘The Tiger’ al-Hassan, Commander of the Syrian Arab Army Tiger Forces, has received an award weapon from Head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, at the Hmeymim air base.

The Tiger Forces commander has also received a grateful letter from Russian Defense Minister, Sergey Shoygu.

Al-Hassan commanded an air landing operation and the liberation of El-Kder and the nearby area earlier this week.

“For the successful offensive along the Euphrates river, for participation in the liberation of the strategically important settlement Sukhna, as well as for command of the landing and the liberation of El-Kder, the Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu awards you for the courage,” the Russian Defense Ministry quoted Gerasimov in a statement.

On Friday, the Syrian Arab Army and its allies made large gains against ISIS terorirsts in the province of Homs and now are working to neutralize a large ISIS grouping in the area of Uqayrabat. This became possible due to the successful air landing operation in El-Kder and the liberation of Sukhna.

>Hezbollah, Lebanese Army, Syrian Army Launched Final Push Against ISIS At Syrian-Lebanese Border (Videos, Photos)

On Saturday, Hezbollah and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched the “Operation If ye revert, We shall revert” to liberate the Western Qalamoun region from ISIS terrorists at the Syrian-Lebanese border.

According to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria, the SAA and Hezbollah captured the following areas in Jorud Qara and Jorud al-Jarajir in the Western Qalamoun region: Wadi Massud, -Wadi Abu-Khadir, Sha’abat Surur, Qabr al-Arsali, Khirbat al-Ayilah, Harf Wadi farah heights, Ras Sha’abat al-Magharah, Qurnat Shumes, the Khanjar roundabout, Saha’abat al-Sauki, the Wadi Khanjar roundabout, Shumies al-Zamrani, the Thanayah al-Hariq height, the Abu Khadej height, Shaluf al-Zamrani.

Furthermore, Hezbollah and the SAA captured the strategic Mosul mount in the Jurod al-Brig area. The SAA and Hezbollah also captured the Zamrani crossing on the Syrian-Lebanese border.

At least 3 ISIS fighters have surrendered to Hezbollah and the SAA in the Western Qalamoun region so far. One of them is the ISIS field commander in al-Zamrani area, Ahmad Wahid al-Abd.

From its side, the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) launched “Operation Dawn of Jorud” to capture Ras Balbak and al-Qa’a areas. LAF spokesperson Nazih Jurais announced that the LAF captured 30 square kilometers from ISIS and killed 20 ISIS fighters so far.

On Saturday also, LAF General Ali Qansuh revealed that there are at least 600 ISIS fighters on the Syrian-Lebanese border controlling 120 square kilometers from Ras Balbak to Western Qalamoun. Moreover, Qansuh denied any coordination between the LAF and the SAA.

Lebanese sources claimed that many ISIS fighters surrendered to the LAF in Ras Balbak. Sources also claimed that the Lebanese Intelligence may have found the bodies of LAF soldiers executed who been by ISIS in 2014, this claimed is yet to be confirmed by Lebanese officials.

Speculation even appeared that 200 ISIS members have surrendered. However, no video or photo evidence has appeared to confirm these claims.

Many sources expected that the operations against ISIS on the Syrian-Lebanese borders won’t last long as ISIS fighters there are poorly armed, and unwilling just like Haya’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) fighters in Arsal area before.

>Syrian Army Enters Key ISIS-held Strong Point Near Iraqi Border (Photos, Video)

Russian and Syrian warplanes conducted dozens of airstrikes on ISIS positions in the eastern Homs countryside, according to pro-government sources.

The ISIS-linked Amaq news agency claimed that ISIS fighters destroyed a bulldozer of the SAA near Humaymah village with an ATGM. Amaq also published photos of an attack on SAA positions north and east of Sukhnah town.

In another development, pro-government sources claimed that US-led collation warplanes attacked the Tiger Forces in al-Kadir village between the southern Raqqa countryside and eastern Homs countryside. The sources also claimed that many fighters from the “Tarmah group” – a part of the Tiger Forces – were killed or injured in the airstrike.

If these claims are confirmed it will be hard for the US-led collation to justify attacking the SAA tens of kilometers away from any front line with the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have liberated Um Haratayn, Dakilah Shamali and Dakilah Janubi in the eastern Hama countryside, inside the ISIS-held pocket of Uqayrabat.

Earlier this week, the SAA, the NDF and their allies besieged a large group of ISIS members in the area of Uqayrabat north of the Homs-Palmyra highway.

>Syrian Army Liberated Key Humaymah Village From ISIS Near Iraqi Border

On Sunday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies recaptured the strategic Humaymah village from ISIS west of the T-2 station in the eastern Homs countryside near the Iraqi border, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria. The SAA started removing IEDs and mines that had been planted by ISIS fighters in the village.

Moreover, the SAA capture several strategic positions east of al-Sha’aer mount in the eastern Homs countryside.

SAA artillery units killed several ISIS fighters, and destroyed many vehicles of ISIS east of Sukhnah town, and in al-Mushirfah al-Janubiah and Abu Qatur villages, according to the SAA.

On August 19, the ISIS-linked Amaq news agency claimed that ISIS fighters destroyed a bulldozer of the SAA near Humaymah village. Moreover, Amaq claimed that many Syrian soldiers were killed or injured after an ISIS VBIED attacked a SAA position around Humaymah.

In the eastern Hama countryside, the SAA captured al-Dukhilah al-Janubiah, al-Dukhilah al-Shimaliah, Um Hartian villages and several strategic heights south of Um Hartian village.

The SAA and its allies will launch a more powerful attack on ISIS positions in eastern Hama soon, according to pro-government sources.

>Iraqi Prime Minister Declares Start Of Battle For Tal Afar

On Sunday, the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced the beginning of the “Operation we are coming Tal Afar” to liberate Tal Afar area west of Mosul from ISIS.

“I say to ISIS fighters either you surrender or you will be killed” Abadi said in an official statement.

The Iraqi Army, security forces and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) mobilized more than 40,000 soldier for this operation. The 40,000 Iraqi soldiers will face 2,000 ISIS fighters in Tal Afar.

So far the Iraqi Army captured the following areas:

A’abrah Kabira, and A’abrah Saqirah villages northwest of Tal Afar town;
Batishah, al-Alam, Khfajah, Halabiah al-Awliah and Mrazif villages east of Tal Afar town;
Qazel Qew, and Kasser Mehrab villages southwest of Tal Afar;
Al-Najar, and al-Hanash villages east of Tal Afar.

The PMU forces also captured the southern part of the Zambar mountains and cut off the Tal Afar-al-Muhalabiah road.

ISIS has not shown any real resistance so far because ISIS fighters there are poorly armed because of the PMU-Peshmerga siege for almost a year. Iraqi sources believe that the main battle will take place in Tal Afar town.

The reason the Iraqis are putting 40k soldiers against 2k ISIS fighters is because of the city of Tal Afar. It has a population of around 200k people, and it is also the same size as Raqqa and DeZ, combined with the fact that ISIS has been in Tal Afar for three years, providing ample time to build up the defenses of the city, means we could see a big fight in the city.

>Government Forces Recapture 3 Villages From ISIS In Uqayribat Pocket (Map, Photos)

In the ISIS-held Uqayribat pocket north of the Homs-Palmyra highway, the Syrian Arab Army and the Qalamoun Shield Forces have retaken the villages of Jani Albawi, Tal Albawi and Albawi from ISIS terrorists.

This advance further increased pressure on ISIS positions north of the ISIS strong point of Uqayribat. ISIS has many fortified defense positions in the cross-country terran inside the pocket. Thus, the progress inside the pocket is slower than in the desert area.

>US-backed SDF Captures al-Rasheed Neighborhood In Raqqah City – Reports

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), supported by the US-led coalition, have captured al-Rasheed neighborhood in Raqqah city, according to pro-Kurdish sources. Clashes have been also reported in the southern part of Raqqah and west of Rawdah neighborhood.

The SDF, supported by the US-led coalition, started the official storm of the ISIS-held city in early June. However, ISIS still has a strong presence in the populated areas and controls most important parts of the city.

>ISIS Counter-Attacks Near Iraqi Border, Claims Killing Of 20 Pro-Government Fighters

ISIS terrorists have conducted an attack against Syrian government forces in the al-Waer area near the Iraqi border, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq.

Amaq claimed that ISIS members killed about 20 members of the Syrian Army and Hezbollah and destroyed 6 military vehicles and 2 artillery pieces. However, ISIS was not able to seize the area.

Earlier this month, the army and its allies achieved an important success against ISIS near the border and liberated the key village of Humaymah. The T2 pumping station will likely become a next target of the army operation.

Syrian War Report – August 23, 2017: Syrian Army Liberates Large Area From ISIS
https://youtu.be/CkWcH5nYOHs

On August 22, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces successfully continued their operation against ISIS and liberated Dahr Hamra, Latum Ghabiri, Souq, Qasr Hayr Sharqi and Kuwayr in the province of Homs. This advance reduced the distance to Sukhna from 10 km to 5 km.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Defense Ministry released a statement claiming that ISIS terrorists are on the run. According to the statement, ISIS members were fleeing the area amid large number of losses in the manpower and military equipment.

On August 23, the Tiger Forces developed momentum in the Zaheq Mount area. They need to secure the entire mountain to close the pocket officially.

Separately reports appeared that on August 22 the 800th Regiment of the Syrian Republican Guard and allied units advanced 30km along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor highway liberating Talat al Krad and Jabal Dahik ash Sharqi.

Media also speculate that the Tiger Forces seized Rujm al Hajanah and Jabal Dabbah in the direction of Deir Ezzor. If these advances confirmed, this will mean that the Syrian military is not going to delay the Deir Ezzor operation and will likely push towards the city as soon as the ISIS resistance disappears north of the Homs-Palmyra highway.

East of Salamiyah, the SAA retook Jani Albawi, Tal Albawi and Albawi from ISIS terrorists and established a fire control over Salba further increasing pressure on ISIS positions north of the ISIS strong point of Uqayribat. ISIS has many fortified defense positions in the cross-country terran inside the pocket. Thus, the progress inside the pocket is slower than in the desert area.

The Hezbollah media wing in Syria has released a video showing members of Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada using combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UCAVs) against ISIS targets in the Syrian desert. Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada is an Iraqi Shia militia. It is a part of the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU).

According to the data shown on the video, airstrikes could be conducted by Iranian-made Shahed-129 UCAVs. It is not clear if the UCAVs are operated directly by Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada. Experts believe that Shahed-129 UCAVs could be operated directly from Iran. Meanwhile, Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada members just call airstrikes on selected targets using reconnaissance drones

>Government Forces Liberate Mount Dahik, Create Second ISIS Pocket In Central Syria (Maps)

Pro-government forces, led by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces, have liberated the Dahik Mount at the Sukhna-Resafa road and created the second ISIS pocket in the province of Homs. Now, ISIS terrorists are encircled in the two separate ISIS-held areas: in the area of Uqayrabat and in the area northeast of Palmyra.

This week, the SAA and its allies have made large gainst against ISIS in central Syria and will likely liberate the entire area north of Palmyra soon.

>ISIS Claims US-led Coalition Accidentally Bombed PMU Fighters Near Tal Afar

The US-led coalition has accidentally bombed members of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) near the ISIS-held city of Tal Afar in northern Iraq, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq.

According to the report, some 38 PMU fighters were killed as a result of the US-led coalition airstrikes near Kerkari village in the Tal Afar countryside.

If confirmed, this will be the recent in a series of incidents involving the US-led coalition and the PMU in Iraq. Earlier this year, the PMU claimed that the US-led coalition carried out military strikes on its fighters near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

>ISIS Released Info About Alleged Casualties Of Iraqi Forces In Second Day Of Tal Afar Operation

The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq has released information about the alleged casualties of Iraqi forces in the second day of the Tal Afar operation in northern Iraq.

According to Amaq, the Iraqi Army failed to advance in Termah village west of Tal Afar, but army troops successfully gained groun in Tel Samman village east of Tal Afar. At the same time, clashes continued in the central and eastern parts of the Tal Afar pocket.

In total, Amaq claimed that 95 pro-government Iraqi soldiers were killed, 4 Cougars, 12 Humvees, a Bulldozer a minesweeper and 24 other vehicles were destroyed.

On Sunday, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced the official start of the large-scale operation to liberate Tal Afar and the nearby area from ISIS. ISF had deployed about 40,000 troops for the operation.

Meanwhile, according to the Pentagon, about 2,500 ISIS members were deployed in the area. According to the Iraqi government estimates, there were between 1,500 and 2,000 ISIS members.

>said troll

Hey, ho! It's "britfag" here to correct you on that. I'm willing to let this die if you are, but you and your friends need to stop spreading misinformation about what went down that day.

This all started when I said in the mlpol discord that I don't like Glimmer.

Taze said "I don't like her that much but people get too butthurt about her".

I started explaining why I don't like her, and he started going "So autistic reeeee!", and I was about to explain myself, then I was muted and the "Haha we couldn't handle your autism" posts began from the glimmerniggers. So I left. This isn't a school, and if some pathetic little loser is going to start powertripping over the small amount of power being the admin of his tiny little club gives him, I reserve the right to leave, then laugh about it with my fellow adults later. I made a thread on /mlpol/ about this, and the discordfags…

They responded by Glimmershitting the thread up, posting glimmer and attacking me until the thread got locked. There was even a doxing attempt, for fuck's sake. The OC(Pretty cool Unicorn guy) and MY LAST NAME was posted. A doxing attempt over someone not liking a fucking pinkish cartoon horse! Did I slip and fall into a parallel universe where this is rational adult behavior? Do you know why they keep calling me autistic? They're projecting. They've reached autism levels that shouldn't even be possible.

When the identifying information was removed from the post, they started getting "Cute" and pushing the rules to see how far they could push them, putting names that are 'almost' my last name into posts. In the "Blocks your path" thread, I only needed to make one post to send them into a screeching sperging rage. I then spent the rest of the day watching XRA. When I got back, the thread was deleted. In the recent "Should glimspam be banned and should glimmerniggers be dealt with" thread, you REEEEEEEEEEEE'd until the thread got locked. Then there was a "Man, I sure do love Discord!" PR thread where a bunch of samefags circlejerk over how great they consider their home and occasionally namedrop me out of context, hoping to convince people with no information about this to see things their way, rather than the truthful way.

Today, either Taze or a member of his personal Internet Defense Force began photoshopping my OC's face onto gay porn. These are not the actions of a group of mature adults.

Putting aside the fact that we already have a designated shitting board for Glimshit, and it's called 4/mlp/, a site they ruined with this bullshit…

For the two of us to "Stop all le dramas!!!!" and "Just talk this out", he would need to put the "Just As Bad! You're The Real Problem! Stop Making Us Act How We Acted Before You Showed Up!" signs down, stop acting like a retarded spoilt child, and admit he spazzed out to legendary extremes over someone admitting in HIS discord server that he didn't really like Starlight Glimmer. He would need to admit that what he did was wrong. He overreacted, and broke the site's rules multiple times.

And tell me, after all the shit he's pulled, and all the shit his personal internet defense force has pulled, do you really see him owning up to it all and accepting whatever punishment comes his way?

>Hezbollah, Syrian Army And Lebanese Army Crushing ISIS At Syrian-Lebanese Border

On Friday, Hezbollah and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) captured the Dhalil al-Fakhuriah heights, the al-Hamam valley, the Dhuhur al-Khishin heights, Srj al-al-Quamea’a, the Marties valley and the al-Fakhuriah valley in the Western Qalamoun region at the Syrian-Lebanese border, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.

The SAA and Hezbollah also captured Qurnat Tim al-Mal in the southern part of Western Qalamoun. Qurnat Tim al-Mal oversees the ISIS-held al-Shahut crossing on the Syrian-Lebanese border.

The Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya news TV channel claimed that 13 fighters from Hezbollah were killed by ISIS fighters on August 24. However, these claims were not confirmed by Hezbollah.

From its side, the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) captured Talat al-Adam and Dalil Um al-Gama’a in Jurod Ras Balbak. Moreover, LAF artillery destroyed dozens of ISIS positions and vehicles in Martbaiah valley including two VBIEDs.

The LAF is now preparing to launch the 4th and final phase of its anti-ISIS operation. Meanwhile, no new information about the ongoing negotiation between Hezbollah and ISIS was released.

>Syrian Army Retreats From 4 More VIllages Under ISIS Pressure In Southern Raqqah – Reports

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Tribal Forces have reportedly retreated from 3 more villages on the western bank of the Euphrates River under the pressure of ISIS, according to some local sources.

ISIS units reportedly entered in the villages of Subkhah, Huwayjiah, al-Sharidan and Zur Shama after SAA troops (up to 60, according to some sources) had withdrawn from the area.

Pro-government sources deny these reports and say that an intense fighting is now ongoing in the area of Subkhah.

Earlier this week, the SAA Tiger Forces sent reinforcements to the southern Raqqah in order to assist Tribal Forces and the SAA to repel the ISIS advance.

However, it looks that the government forces defense is vulnerable in southern Raqqah now because a notable part of the SAA manpower is involved in the ongoing operation against ISIS in the province of Homs.

>Hayat Tahrir al-Sham Pushes Another Re-Branding Initiative, Seeks To Absorb Remaining Militant Groups In Idlib

On Friday, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) general commander, Hashem al-Shikh Abu Jaber, said during the Friday prayers speech in Binish village in the eastern Idlib countryside that HTS is ready to dissolve itself if all other armed groups in Idlib governorate do the same.

“They told us you have first to dissolve Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, we said we are ready to dissolve the organization that was built as a tool not as an aim, under the condition that other groups dissolve itself and follow a joint command,” Abu Jaber said.

The suggestion included forming a joint police force in Idlib governorate under the command of the HTS civilian administration. Opposition sources claimed that Turkey was behind the suggestion.

In his speech, Abu Jaber also attacked Russia and the USA, and accused the whole word of working to end “the Syrian revolution”.

HTS took over Idlib city on July 23. Since then HTS has been trying to establish itself as the only legitimate power in Idlib. HTS even founded a “civilian administration” to manipulate the public opinion.

On August 3, US special envoy to Syria, Michael Rantley, issued an official statement in which he blamed HTS and its civilian administration. Rantly even said that US will not stop other powers from launching a military operation in Idlib if HTS sizes the entire governorate.

>Syrian Government Forces Developing Momentum In Border Area With Jordan

On Saturday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured 3 new border posts (161, 162, 163) on the Syrian-Jordanian border, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.

Furthermore, the SAA captured Ghadir Mahmud area and Mahmud valley in the southeastern Damascus countryside near the Syrian-Jordanian border.

The Mahmud valley is one of the most important illegal crossing on the Syrian-Jordanian border. Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups had been using the crossing to smuggle ammunition and weapons from Jordan to Syria since 2011.

US-backed Jaysh Usud al-Sharqiya claimed that its fighters destroyed a truck of the SAA with an ATGM. Jaysh Usud al-Sharqiya also claimed that it had repelled the SAA attack however these claims were proven to be untrue again.

The SAA is advancing towards the last border post between Damascus governorate border and the Jordanian border. The post is located 55Km south of al-Tanaf near the Iraqi border where the US-led collation forces are located.

On Sunday, the Hezbollah media wing announced that ISIS fighters and their families will leave the Western Qalamoun region to Al Bukamal city in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

The Lebanese-based Al-Mayadeen news TV channel reported that 17 buses and 10 vehicles of the Syrian Red Crescent arrived to Jorud Qarah area inside Syria. The buses will evacuate 350 ISIS fighters and their families according to Al-Mayadeen.

Al-Mayadeen also revealed that ISIS fighters will leave in the early morning tomorrow as both sides are in rush to end the deal.

Meanwhile, Major General Abbas Ibrahim the General director of the Lebanese General Security Directorate announced that the Lebanese Intelligence recovered what could be the bodies of the 8 Lebanese soldiers who were captured by ISIS in Arsal in 2014. The Lebanese Red Cross is now conducting DNA tests on the bodies to identify it.

Gen. Ibrahim said that one of ISIS fighters who surrender themselves earlier guided the Lebanese Intelligence to the graves. Gen. Ibrahim added that the Lebanese Intelligence had information that the captured Lebanese soldiers were killed since early 2015.

Gen. Ibrahim stressed that the battle on the Lebanese-Syrian border will not end until the last ISIS fighters leave the Lebanese territories.

In the southern Raqqa countryside, pro-government sources claimed confirmed that the SAA recaptured Sabkha and Ghanem al-Ali villages. Furthermore, the SAA reportedly besieged ISIS fighters in Sherida and Shanan villages near Ghanem al-Ali.

Local sources from Deir Ezzor city claimed that ISIS deployed 500 well equipped fighters to Ma’adan town in the northwestern Deir Ezzor countryside. ISIS will likely launch another attack on the SAA in Ghanem al-Ali soon.

Meanwhile, 30 Iraqi fighters defected from ISIS in Deir Ezzor, according to an opposition source. The source added that ISIS is now chasing with the defectors, and has so far killed 2 of them.

The original video was published in September 2013 on this channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSYR6NoGkD0

This is a shortened version of that video. It shows children being instructed by terrorists to act like they have been hit with Sarin gas, they convulse, they’re eyes blink and they froth at the mouth with fake foam applied to their faces by terrorists. A of children applaud. A man in a Mickey mouse costume tells them it’s all fun.

>Kurdish-Arab Tensions Grow Within US-backed SDF. YPG Arrests Liwaa Suqour al-Raqqa Members – Reports

The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), that are a core of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces, have arrested a number of members of Liwaa Suqour al-Raqqa, one of the few Arab factions within the SDF, according to pro-opposition media outlets.

The YPG has reportedly arrested 15 Liwaa Suqour al-Raqqa members, including the group’s field commander Fayyad al-Ghanim, and seized their weapons.

The incident allegedly took place in Al-Ghanim neighborhood in Raqqah city on Saturday evening.

Thereported reason of the tensions between the YPG and Liwaa Suqour al-Raqqa is alleged coordination of Fayyad al-Ghanim with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

If reports are confirmed, this will once again show that Kurdish militias remain the only real military power within the SDF and contribute all possible efforts to consolidate political and military influence in the SDF-held areas.

UPDATE: Fresh reports have appeared claiming Ibrahim al-Banawi (from Liwa Jund al-Haramain) and Fayyad al-Ghanim have defected to the SAA.

>Israel Complains To UN That Iran Building Missile Production Sites In Syria, Lebanon

Iran is building precision-guided missile production sites in Syria and Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu complained during a meeting in Jerusalem with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on August 28.

Netanyahu added that he believes that Iran does this with the aim of using missiles against Israel.

The Israeli prime minister accused Iran of turning Syria into a “base of military entrenchment as part of its declared goal to eradicate Israel”.

“It is also building sites to produce precision-guided missiles towards that end, in both Syria and in Lebanon. This is something Israel cannot accept. This is something the UN should not accept,” Netanyahu said.

Israel is deeply conserned over the growing Iranian in the Middle East and sees the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and local Shia militas, especially Hezbollah as a threat to its security. This concern has become especially significant amid the Syrian-Russian-Iranian alliance’s success in the Syrian conflict.

>Syrian War Report – August 28, 2017: ISIS Suffers Large Casualties In Clashes With Army In Southern Raqqah

https://youtu.be/txUueJt5dY0

Syrian government forces, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, reportedly eliminated the most battle-tested and well-armed unit of ISIS in the Euphrates River valley last weekend.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, over 800 ISIS members, 13 battle tanks, 39 pickup trucks armed with large-caliber machine guns and 9 mortars and artillery guns were destroyed during the clashes near Ghanem al-Ali village. The ministry added that government forces are now advancing against ISIS along the Euphrates River.

The Syrian Arab Army and its allies took back Sabkha and Ghanem al-Ali villages and continued developing momentum in order to retake the rest of the areas near Maadan seized by ISIS during its large attack last week, according to pro-government sources.

The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out over 100 airstrikes on ISIS positions in the southern Raqqah countryside over the weekend and claimed that about 50 SAA servicemen were killed in a SVBIED attack.

Reports have been circulating that at least 60 SAA service members have been killed and about 300 others have been missing since the start of the ISIS counter-attack in southern Raqqah.

In central Syria, the SAA and its allies recaptured from ISIS the entire area north of Palmyra liberating about 2,000 km2 from the terrorist group.

The SAA also seized the Syriatel hill 30km east of al-Sukhnah town on the al-Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor highway deplyoing in less than 75 km away from Deir Ezzor city besieged by ISIS.

Meanwhile, clashes continued in the Uqayribat area where another group of ISIS units had been encircled by the SAA.

The SAA, Hezbollah and the Lebanese Armed Forces got a full control over the Qalamoun area at the Syrian-Lebanese border after ISIS had agreed to withdraw from it under a ceasefire deal. About 350 ISIS fighters and their families were set to be evacuated to Deir Ezzor.

On Sunday, the Iraqi Army and the Popular Mobilization Units liberated the entire city of Tal Afar from ISIS in northern Iraq. Government forces also advanced in the Tal Afar countryside liberating the villages of Al-Alwliah, Kuitlah, Kaser, al-Haruniah, al-Fough, Qabaq and Alwa’ailiah as well as the Al-Kisk camp, the Tal Afar gas station and other nearby areas.

The Joint Operations Command released a statement on Sunday claiming that government forces killed over 200 ISIS members as well as defused 105 IEDs and 15 booby-trapped houses.

Meanwhile, Iraqi warplanes reportedly destroyed about 60 ISIS vehicles withdrawing from Tal Afar in the direction of al-Ayadiah.
The army and the PMU will likely secure the entire Tal Afar pocket will likely be secured in the near future.

The Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed 26 more pieces of the ISIS military equipment and 2 fortified strong points belonging to the terrorist group, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday.

“Russia’s aerospace force during last night and the day of Monday went ahead with successful attacks against facilities of the Islamic State [ISIS] to destroy four tanks, 16 cross-country vehicles armed with heavy machineguns, six trucks carrying ammunition and two fortified points, including artillery positions,” the ministry said.

The announcement came amid the continued clashes between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and ISIS in the Ghanem Ali area in southern Raqqah.

According to the defense ministry, following the failure in southern Raqqah ISIS is now trying to re-group its forces in the province of Deir Ezzor.

On Sunday, the Russian military announced that its warplanes have destroyed the most battle-tested and well-armed unit of ISIS in the Euphrates River valley. >Iraqi Army And PMU Capture More Than 13 New Areas Around Recently Liberated Tal Afar

On Sunday, the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) captured the last positions of ISIS in al-Askari and al-Sna’a al-Shamliah districts in the northern part of Tal Afar and established a full control over the town.

Then, Iraqi forces continued its advance and captured the following areas around Tal Afar town:

Al-Alwliah, Kuitlah, Kaser, al-Haruniah, al-Fough, Qabaq and Alwa’ailiah villages;
Al-Dawajin, al-Saja’a and al-Tamarat farms;
the Al-Kisk camp, the Mohman hill and the Tal Afar gas factory.

Government forces also re-opened the al-Kisk-Tal Afar road and captured the “Border Citadel”.

Iraqi warplanes destroyed 60 vehicles of ISIS and killed more than 180 ISIS fighters while they were withdrawing from Tal Afar town to al-Ayadiah town north of it.

The remaining ISIS fighters are now regrouping in al-Ayaqiah town and rebuilding their defenses there, according to Iraqi sources. Al-Ayadiah is considered the second biggest town in Tal Afar area after Tal Afar town itself.

From its side the Iraqi forces will likely work to besiege ISIS fighters in al-Ayadia before storming it.

>A months-long investigation which tracked and exposed a massive covert weapons shipment network to terror groups in Syria via diplomatic flights originating in the Caucuses and Eastern Europe under the watch of the CIA and other intelligence agencies has resulted in the interrogation and firing of the Bulgarian journalist who first broke the story. This comes as the original report is finally breaking into mainstream international coverage.

>Investigative reporter Dilyana Gaytandzhieva authored a bombshell report for Trud Newspaper, based in Sofia, Bulgaria, which found that an Azerbaijan state airline company was regularly transporting tons of weaponry to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Turkey under diplomatic cover as part of the CIA covert program to supply anti-Assad fighters in Syria. Those weapons, Gaytandzhieva found, ended up in the hands of ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorists in Iraq and Syria

None will know how much he cared, none will know how much he bared;
For when he left it wasn't in peace- Sleep now, Tiger, the Light of the Syrian Fight. Never forget the sacrifice of Colonel Razi Ali, never forget how much he fought, never forgive the ones who made him stop. Now you rest, remembered and loved, now you rest, watching from above.

ISRAELI OFFICIAL: IF IRAN EXPANDS IN SYRIA, WE'LL BOMB ASSAD'S PALACE

>A senior Israeli official warned the Russian government that if Iran continues to extend its reach in Syria, Israel will bomb Syrian President Bashar Assad's palace in Damascus, according to reports in Arab media.

>Israel also warned that if serious changes do not happen in the region, Israel will make sure the ceasefire deal, reached by the United States and Russia in Astana, Kazakhstan, will be nullified.

>A senior Israeli source told the Al-Jadida newspaper that no understanding was reached between the Israelis and the Russians. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did, however, make it clear to Putin that its concerns must be met or Israel will be forced to act.

The warnings occurred in a meeting between Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin last week.

>The prime minister, accompanied by Mossad head Yossi Cohen, the newly appointed head of the National Security Council, Meir Ben-Shabbat, and Likud minister Ze'ev Elkin who served as his translator, flew to Sochi on the Black Sea for the meeting, returning to Israel shortly after it ended. This is Netanyahu’s fourth trip to Russia in the last 16 months, and his sixth meeting with Putin during this same time frame.

>Netanyahu said the majority of his discussions with Putin focused on the situation in Syria. He said the reason he wanted to hold talks now with the Russian leader was because the situation inside Syria has changed very rapidly over the last few weeks.

Well, then. Perhaps we have them shaken.

Leader of the Manbij Military Council, Adnan Abo Amjad, has been killed in clashes with ISIS terrorists in the Syrian city of Raqqah.

According to reports, Adnan Abo Amjad was killed on August 29 during an advance against ISIS inside Raqqah.

The Manbij Military Council is one of the few Arab factions of the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) that has a successful combat expirience.

Amjad had particiapted in a number of battles against ISIS, including the battles for Kobani, Manbij, Shaddadah in northern Syria.

Violent clashes are ongoing between ISIS and the SDF in the southern and western part of Raqqah.

Earlier this week, the SDF and SDF-linked sources claimed that the battle for Raqqah would be finished within 2 months and the city will be fully liberated.

>Iraq, US-led Coalition Slam Deal With ISIS In Qalamoun That Allows Militants To Redeploy To Deir Ezzor

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi criticized a deal reached between ISIS militants the Lebanese military (with support of Hezbollah) in the Qalamoun area at the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Under the deal about 300 ISIS members and about 300-500 their family members and civilians were allowed to withdraw from the ISIS-held border area to the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor.

This ended the ISIS presence in the border area, but caused criticism from some powers.

“Honestly speaking, we are unhappy and consider it incorrect,” Prime Minister al-Abadi said. “Transferring terrorists from Qalamoun to the Iraqi-Syrian border is worrying and an insult to the [Iraqi] people.”

He added that “There must be no chance for Daesh [ISIS] to breathe.”

The Iraqi Kurdistan Rgion’s Security Council also criticized the deal.

“We as the Region’s Security Council express our concerns about this action and consider it suspicious. This raises many questions. We hope that all relevant parties in the region take a serious stance on this action,” it said.

The US military also blamed the sides of the deal and said that it didn’t rule out airstrikes on the convoy.

“We will take action where necessary; those would be absolutely lucrative targets,” Col. Ryan Dillon, spokesman for the US-led coalition in Iraq and Syria, said. “We are monitoring them in real time.”

Few moments ago, the US-led coalition air power bombed an ISIS convoy moving from the Qalamoun area to the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor under the deal with Lebanese security forces, according to local sources.

No confirmed reports about the possible casualties are available.

About 300 ISIS members and 300-500 civilians withdrew from the Qalamoun area at the Syrian-Lebanese area after the deal had been reached with the support of Hezbollah.

Earlier today, the US-led coalition threatened to bomb the convoy.

>ISIS Deploys Reinforcements To Southern Raqqah In Attempt To Gain More Ground From Syrian Army Tiger Forces

ISIS has reportedly deployed additional reinforcements to southern Raqqah in order to boost its offensive against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces and pro-government tribal forces in the area.

Clashes are now ongoing between ISIS militants and government troos in the areas west and south of the crossroad village of Ghanem Al-Ali. An intense fighting is also ongoing in the area of Ghanem Al-Ali village itself.

ISIS claims that it controls the village while pro-government sources deny these claims.

However, it’s clear that ISIS has successfully used the government advance in central Syria for re-gropuing and preparing for operations in the province of Raqqah.

>Syrian War Report – August 30, 2017: Syrian Army Advances Northeast Of Sukhna

https://youtu.be/-iM65oqo38U

Government forces, led by the Syrian Republican Guard, have overrun the ISIS defense north of Sukhna and liberated Al Khuwayliyah, Khan al-Baghala, the Subai’i Mount, the Daba Mount, the Khashm Baghal Mount and the nearby areas, according to pro-government sources.

If reports are confirmed, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies are now in a striking distance from the ISIS-held village of Kabbajb located in only about 50km from Deir Ezzor.

East of Salamiyah, the SAA and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have captured Jawasiyat Janubi, Haddaj, Rasm Zaynab, Taybah, Tahmaz, Bir Ghazalah, Kherbet Amarah and Wadi Khullah taking control over the entire eastern flank of the ISIS-held town of Uqayribat.

ISIS is in a no win situation in the area and soon government forces will take control over the entire eastern countryside of Salamiyah.

The SAA and tribal forces have been repelling another large ISIS attack in southern Raqqah. Late on Monday, ISIS deployed its elite forces and launched another offensive against government forces near Maadan entering in the Wadi Ubayd oil field, Wadi al-Tarab, Rajm Sulayman, Nuzayzah, as-Salam Alaykum and the nearby areas. On Tuesday, government forces launched a counter-attack and reportedly regained the points lost to ISIS south of Ghanem Ali. However, on Wednesday, an intense fighting continued in the area.

ISIS was using manpower and military equipment that had been freed after the large retreat from central Syria.

According to ISIS, government forces lost at least 50 soldiers and 3 vehicles in the recent clashes. The group also claimed that it seized few artillery guns, at least 1 battle tank as well as other weapons and munitions during the clashes in the Ghanem Ali area.

The US-led coalition’s warplanes accidentally carried out airstrikes on the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the city of Raqqah, according to reports in the Arab media. The incident reportedly took place in al-Haramiyeh neighborhood and resulted in killing of 10 SDF fighters.

US-led coalition troops have engaged Turkish-backed militants in a firefight near the SDF-held town of Manbij in northern Syria, the coalition spokesman Colonel Ryan Dillon said on Tuesday. The firefight between US-led coalition troops and pro-Turkish militants was the recent in a series of tensions between Washington and Ankara over the US support to Kurdish militias remaining a core of the SDF. Ankara describes the US support to the Kurdish-dominated SDF as a threat to its security.

>Syrian Army Advances Deep Inside Deir Ezzor Governorate

On Wednesday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies advanced over 10km inside Deir Ezzor governorate and reached the Harbisha area west of Bir Ghabaghib village on the Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor highway according to pro-government sources.

The SAA is now located less than 50km away from Deir Ezzor city.

Meanwhile, the Hezbollah media wing in Syria reported that Syrian warplanes bombed ISIS positions and vehicles in Aksh, Um Mail, Abu Jubilat, al-Qastal al-Shamali, al-Qastal al-Wastani and al-Qastal al-Janubi in the eastern Hama countryside, and in Saria’at Junid, al-Qriah hill and al-Mukbat areas around Deir Ezzor city. Dozens of ISIS fighters were reportedly killed and dozens of ISIS vehicles were destroyed in the bombing.

It’s still early to expect that the SAA will reach Deir Ezzor city via the al-Sukhnah-Dier zor highway soon. The SAA had many troubles maintaining its positions on the western bank of the Euphrates River in southern Raqqah. According to epxerts, it will be even harder for the SAA to defend its positions in the desert area between Homs and Deir Ezzor.

>Iraqi Forces Capture Al-Ayadiya Town Near Recently Liberated Tal Afar

On August 30, the Iraqi army and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) imposed their full control over the strategic al-Ayadia town north of Tal Afar town, according to the PMU media wing. The Iraqi Air Force reportedly played a key role in the attack on al-Ayadia.

Al-Ayadia town was the last stronghold of ISIS in the Tal Afar area. Now, ISIS only control the Kasik military base and the villages of al-Salehiyah and Qubq east of Al-Ayadia town. The Iraqi forces already surrender these areas from the south, and the Peshmerga surrender them from the north.

Some sources even claim that these areas were already liberated. However, these still have to be confirmed.

On August 29, Peshmerga forces announced that it killed over 130 ISIS fighters while they were trying to escape to Syria throw the northern part of Tal Afar area.

Furthermore, dozens of ISIS fighters surrendered to the Peshmerga in the last few days as ISIS was witnessing a full collapse in Tal Afar.

The Iraqi police announced that it evacuated dozens of families from the ISIS-held areas in Tal Afar. The battle in Tal Afar is expected to be over within days as most of ISIS units there have been destroyed in the Tal Afar town.

Pic rel is supposed area where camp might be located. Plenty of dense forests there, soo it will be a tricky one. Try looking within dark green spots - those are under HTS control. Also area borded is Latakia, as we know from previous video region given was accurate - Northern Hama.

So far, from what I can tell from the video, we've got
>A square(?) shaped clearing with sporadic shrubbery, flanked on all sides by elevated terrain and vegetation (side note: the vegetation begins AFTER the rock walls)
>A nearby city
>A dirt/rock road leading into forest from the clearing
This is going to be tricky, I'm not even sure the city is relevant. In fact, the road is going to be the easiest to find, as it's white and stick out like a sore thumb.
