Turkey to hold talks with Russia on new buffer zone in northern Syria

nkara will continue talks with Moscow concerning the establishment of a security zone in northern Syria, Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hami Aksoy said at a briefing on Friday.

“We have been for a long time pointing to the need to create a buffer zone to ensure the security of refugees but our initiative was not supported,” he noted. “We will continue to maintain contacts on the issue with our Russian partners. Presidents Erdogan and Putin will discuss it in Russia on January 23,” he added.

It made perfect sense as is, implying that the FSA are a tool of the kikes whether they like it or not. Not being too brash about it (i.e using that headline) will embolden FSA supporters to speak out, causing further butthurt if faced with the truth afterwards.
In hindsight, lucky thing the majority of FSA chose to remain with T*rkey and/or literally al-Qaeda instead of continuing the moderate larp with the burgers.
Just imagine if FSA allied with SDF, HTS disbanded and they all got serious US protection in Idlib and Daraa like in SDF territory, what a shitshow.

No, not that close at all. the alphabet is similar in letters(as in alef=alif mem/mim etc), but the writing and pronunciation of words is completely different. you can pick up a few words here and there that has the same roots but generally it sounds pretty alien.

>plus you have to deal with arabs on a daily basis, do they have to speak hebrew
Yes, that's generally the case. most Arabs speak Hebrew quite fluently. Arabic speaking Jews are quote low in comparison despite the fact Arabic is mandatory since grade 4. but I was a bad student. I think Arabic is harder since it has way more dialects and novelties.

Signs and such are in Arabic since it's an official language but speech wise Hebrew is still dominant. I think it's easier for Arabs to learn Hebrew than the other way around, there's lots of borrowed Arab in modern Hebrew.

>come on, i just wanted a first hand experience without the BS i usually get when i ask random israelis
Well what in particular? there's low key racism and if you have Arab sounding name you probably won't get a job at Intel, but there's also lots of Affirmative action to compensate for it.

Not sure where you saw that. maybe in Jerusalem/west bank where there's segregation due to security reasons, but in other places it's the same/mixed.

>and universities that have a restriction for arabs/make it harder for arabs to join
This is definitely not true. if anything the other way around, they have lower standard tests and easier Threshold tests for uni. it's why there's so many Arab doctors too, it's way easier for them to get into med school.

>and ambulances that provide different qualities depending if you're living in an arab area or jew area
Never heard about that. sometimes ambulances don't go into Arab neighborhoods because they get pelted with rocks. same thing happens in Haredi neighborhoods too.

that's a highly politicized issue but they usually refer to themselves as Palestinians and thus legally speaking aren't bound for the benefits of Israeli citizenship. those are mostly WB and East Jerusalem people who work inside Israel, it's quite a clusterfuck there. all others have blue ID. it's also the most terror-laden places/people so yeah there's animosity towards them I won't lie.

Yeah, I suppose so. the facilities in the West Bank are inadequate in most cases. so you could say they there's discrimination against them, but then again they pretty much oppose the state itself, so there's that.

>btw how come there wasn't a movement from jews to ban arabs from getting israeli citizenship so they could get all the good stuff for themselves? (i mean back in the 40's 50's where it all began)
Good Q. I suppose they just lacked foresight. back then there was plenty of open discrimination though.

>While most Arabs remaining in Israel were granted citizenship, they were subject to martial law in the early years of the state.[43][44] Travel permits, curfews, administrative detentions, and expulsions were part of life until 1966. A variety of Israeli legislative measures facilitated the transfer of land abandoned by Arabs to state ownership. These included the Absentee Property Law of 1950 which allowed the state to take control of land belonging to land owners who emigrated to other countries, and the Land Acquisition Law of 1953 which authorized the Ministry of Finance to transfer expropriated land to the state. Other common legal expedients included the use of emergency regulations to declare land belonging to Arab citizens a closed military zone, followed by the use of Ottoman legislation on abandoned land to take control of the land.

>The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has canceled their military operation in eastern Syria, a source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News this afternoon.
>According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army has begun redeploying a large number of soldiers from the eastern Homs and Deir Ezzor regions to the Hama and Idlib provinces.
>The source said the reason for the mass redeployment is due to the pressing need to retake areas in northwest Syria that are currently controlled by the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party.

Hmm, Liwa al-Quds just arrived in DeZ in full force and PMU announced they'd join SAA for an operation on the border so I doubt it's entirely called off tbqh.

btw most arab countries gained independence way after 1950 so that makes israel the one who started it :^)

aside from that is there any legal discrimination between arabs israelis vs jewish israelis(as in not an individual doing it on his own but a law making it real) for instance being barred from sensitive jobs in the government/army/police
also how come affirmative action still persist to this day without any major political move to make it even between arab isralis and jewish israelis?

No, I don't think so. the gov. became pretty sensitive to it since the 2000's and most laws state you have to give equal opportunity yadda yadda. plenty of Arabs in the army/police (they don't have to enlist unlike Jews tho, so still in smaller numbers since many are called traitors if they do). also many judges/soccer players and what not. currently 13(out of 120) members in the Knesset. and probably will grow in next elections.

gun laws are quite strict for everyone.
>In 2018, Israel significantly loosened firearms restrictions, allowing all citizens who had undergone combat training as a combat soldier in the army, to apply for a license. This only applies to those who have passed infantry rifle training

>Prior to 2018, when laws were changed to allow all former combat soldiers to apply for a license, only a small group of people had been eligible for firearms licenses: certain retired military personnel, police officers or prison guards; residents of settlements or those who often work in such towns; and licensed hunters and animal-control officers.

most people don't carry, there's just a lot of soldiers with rifles so there's a misconception about it.

Absolutely, even ignoring the fact that Israel is violating the rights of another sovereign country, if one is to consider that the Israeli Jets really did hide behind commercial airliners last attack, with airlines such as Oman Air, Gulf Air and Etihad Airways saying they want to restart flights to Damascus, Israel can't keep the region in a state of war and provoke civilian deaths.

nah, that who be true for anyone in his place. I imagine Bassel would have crushed the rebellion early on much faster ala Hafez in 1982. perhaps he was a bit too optimistic when it started.

>and weak in terms of reactions vs israeli attacks
def no, he knows it isn't against him or SAA, he's clever enough not to take the bait.

>also do you see him being forced into a war with israel because of iranian pressure to use syria as a launching pad

>it's not like these sparse jury rigged shacks made by colonist can act as an actual wall against arab presence
no, but there's military presence there that can, and it's bound to them. can't have the army there if you officially return it to Palestine.

>the one of 47, sure arabs rejected it, but jews accepted to stay in their UN delimited area so why colonizing the palestinian ones?
Well, it was Egyptian/Jordanian back then, and then with the aftermath of the war it became a giant clusterfuck. security-wise it would be suicidal, they'd be at tunnel range from TA. also essential in order to keep the Jordanian border sealed.
but really it all comes down to the practicality of it and the inability to do anything. IDF had issues evacuating ~10,000 jews from the Gaza settlements, there's no way to evacuate ~800,000 people from there even if a mega-lefty PM would order it.

also people are now even more wary of withdrawing after the Gaza withdrawal. the appeasement only strengthened Hamas and all the pre 2005 talks about utopia-vacation-peaceful coexistence on gaza's beach dreams quickly faded with reality of rockets.
so it's ain't happening. pally's know this, but I don't they care. it's all just rhetoric from both sides and that's why Trump peace plan will also fail.

but isn't it already "officially" part of palestine? plus why do you need to add settlers to justify military presence when the presence of settlers is already illegal (ie why bothering to add the middle man (settlers) ) especially considering the fact that the army is already present in areas where there aren't any settlers

Not according to Israeli gov. officially it's not annexed either but still under Israeli jurisdiction as per Oslo II Accords. that's why they're calling it Judea and Samaria instead of West Bank.

>plus why do you need to add settlers to justify military presence
oh, the plan is too add settlers to justify long term civilian presence, that would play in any future peace/partition plan. see pic related, these are spots/cities that can't/won't be evacuated/withdrawn under any agreement since they're too big and populated already. plan is to create as many such spots. settlers are like most Arabs, they're very efficient at multiplying. 8-9 child per family. don't forget these people are hard liners and very devout. Arabs are doing the same in it's a race who can populate faster before anything happens.

>where will you put them once they've run out of space?
you'll have to ask them seeing as they're winning the population growth war. all signs lead to an even bigger conflict/war if you ask me. i don't think it will ever end. this dispute will persist until the sun goes supernova.

Eh, the TA metro is important because it's the economic epicenter of Israel. it's the bloodline of the country. and the settlements are already quite unsafe as it is tbh, daily stabbings/run overs are a thing of the norm there. people who go and live there realize that. p.s. no rockets in WB since
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Defensive_Shield.
it's also why it's so cheap. you can buy a house for half the price it would cost you in TA.
also most of the jew/arab cities in WB are segregated, with the wall™.

I think Iran's grand plan is to have Hizb in lebanon+IRGC in Syria+Hamas in gaza+cells in Egypt+Pallys in WB+Jerusalem attack all at once and force Israel into to a multi-front war, including inside it via Arabs in Jerusalem and Arab-Israeli cities. I think that's what they're gearing into. but first they need to establish their presence in Southern Syria and create armed cells in WB. so a few years down the line I assume. it's a good plan if they'll make it work concurrently, no doubt.

soleimani was protected by obama admin. also killing him now would def. start a war. and nasrallah, well, that's def. a fuckup. in 2006 they flattened the Dahieh several times trying to get him and failed every time. fucka is sneaky.

In my town there was refugee center but after shitskins beat up local teen smallish hell broke loose and some of then got beaten / stalked which pretty much led to police not having enough resources for that, which then led them to propose closing down center which happened. Only 2 families searched for apartment and stayed when rest fucked off to somewhere else. And all that fucked off of course were 20-30 old single males. Following the Israeli claim that they intercepted an Ground-to-ground missile coming from #Syria and heading towards the occupied Golan.

A hostile strike against Syria is highly expected.

I base this off observation of known events, and other people in AR confirmed this.
The refs absolutely hated AR, and would call foul on AR a lot of times while other teams would get away with shit that the refs would call foul if AR did it.

I can't really take this pocket seriously anymore since tons of ISIS fighters surrendered/tried to blend in as refugees fleeing the pocket when the prisoners were released yesterday.
There's no way they would release the prisoners without a demand, so the fighting is probably just on twitter now.
There might be a couple of hardliners left holding out but it's hard to buy the idea that the fighters who are left now are fighters who were/are ready to die on the frontline...

I mean, like that Ethiopian they interview, who narrated Flames of War 2, besides a bruise on his forehead he didn't look like he couldn't fight to the death.

I never met a kike in my life before going to America to meet a holocaust survivor last summer, who was originally from Posen (He died in the mean time). But what he told me was really interesting, as he explained things such as how jews never went for polish citizenship after ww1, and how he only saw germans as police when they were guarding the ghettos, and during his entire shipment and journey to Asuchwitz and stay there he only met poles orchestrating; the train guards, the conductors, the instructors, the guards in Auschwitz were all poles. His father and him got seperated, from the mom and sisters who were never to be seen again, and the two were sent to Germany, near my hometown in bavaria. There they were in forced labor and malnurished ofc, but he said there were no executions of such sort though people having been worked to death occured. He has no animosity torwards Germany or germans (the supposed actors behind the shoah) so he will gladly speak German to a descendant of Wehrmacht soldiers, and tank fabrik owner, me, but he will never speak polish again, or speak to a pole who wants to actively know about the holocaust. He even went so far as too say he sees little fault of the german people but has nothing but blame for poles who didn't sell out, but personally killed their "brothers".
Now he is a kike, so I took everything with a grain of salt. I was disgusted every minute I spent with him, and my hand hurt when I shook his hand, but I liked what he said, so I will give it belief; combining this with "polish deathcamps" idea I will use this in the future to make sure poland shrinks and we get to send all the blue eyed, blond haired mutant (as that is what blue eyes, no tanning ability is, a mutation) "-ski" named German refugees back to their Regions in Pommern and Schlesien and Prussia.
Was this all jsut a kike trying to turn brother against brother again? No! The pole isn't germany's brother, it's impossible to suggest that. Poles are the ones who were used to punish germany by Russia and Britain, and the poles went gladly along with it.
O.K.

Hmm, haven't seen any reports from that village since the revenge "offensive" for Eastern Ghouta.
Could be SAA beefing up their presence and provoking the jihadis... makes perfect sense if Qalaat al-Madiq is a target as reported.

Not quite sure why they'd build a base in such an exposed area next to a busy road...
Shucking a grenade out of a moving car into it from the bridge looks simple and it's right next to civilian houses.
The only conclusions i can come up with is they're just repairing the pump station or making a base for SDF.

The aluminium improves the total heat output and hence impulse of the TNT — the length of time during which the blast wave is positive. Tritonal is approximately 18% more powerful than TNT alone.[1]

because he's not a ruler, the generals are
he used to be the compromise foreign affair minister in 63 (as he was chosen by the generals since there was dissent between pro US and pro USSR generals, and Bouteflika was kind of the "in between" guy)
and because of his moderate FP stance he was chosen again in the 90's to be the junta's "democratic" political facade when the military establishment was forced to coup the country because otherwise islamist would win over the elections
but all in all he never truly was in power and even if he was it wouldn't change the fact that he's low profile because such is the FP stance of Algeria
just look at all the conflicts where Algeria hosted diplomatic talks between all parties to solve problems

Regarding repelling the Israeli strikes on #Syria
The situation will get worse for the #SAA
last attack was the largest/conducted with SEAD as one of the main obj.
Israel is focusing on depleting the Syrian short range AD capability so any deployment of the S-300 will be suicidal

Syria threatens retaliatory strike on Tel Aviv Airport

BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:20 A.M.) – The Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations Bashar Al-Ja’afari said in a statement on Tuesday that it was time that the United Nations Security Council “took action to stop constant Israeli attacks on Syrian territories.”

Al-Ja’afari said that Syria may exercise its right for self-defense and respond to the Israeli attack on Damascus Airport with “symmetric” strike on Tel-Aviv airport.

>Several hundred Jabhat al-Nusra militants attack Syria’s forces in Idlib zone
MOSCOW, January 23. Two militant groups of the terrorist organization Jabhat al-Nusra (outlawed in Russia) with a total number of up to 400 people attacked Syria’s forces in the Idlib de-escalation zone, head of the Russian Reconciliation Center for the Opposing Sides in Syria (part of the Defense Ministry) Lieutenant General Sergei Solomatin told journalists on Wednesday.

"Jabhat al-Nusra militant groups simultaneously attacked positions of the government forces in the areas of the communities of Abu al-Duhur and Abu Sharja. Criminal groups of 150-200 militants in 15-20 pick-up trucks with machine guns carried out attacks in each of the areas," he said, adding that the attack was launched in the evening of January 22.

Solomatin noted that in the Abu al-Duhur area the militants used a suicide attacker in a car who was eliminated by an anti-tank guided missile near the front line of the government forces. "The terrorists managed to break as far as 1.5 km deep into the position of the Syrian army, after which they were stopped by fire and driven outside the contact line by the reserve forces that had approached," the general added. The militants’ attack was derailed in the Abu Sharja area by the fire unleashed by the Syrian forces. The militants suffered losses and returned to their start line positions, Solomatin reported.

He noted that the Reconciliation Center for the Opposing Sides is cooperating with the Turkish side, which immediately receives information on the situation in the Abu al-Duhur and Abu Sharja areas.

>Syria to begin using S-300 defense system in March
BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – The Syrian military will begin using the Russian-made S-300 air defense system in March, the Russia-based Kommersant publication reported on Monday.

According to Kommersant, the Syrian military is completing their training exercises with the S-300 and are not ready to use them in combat.

A member of the Russian Federation Council’s defence and security committee, Franz Klintsevich, said the Syrian crews are currently undergoing training, adding that “the Israeli warplanes are now striking Syria because they are still outside the Syrian air defense range, but after the deployment of the S-300, no one will be able to escape them”.

Kommersant said that it would be possible for one air defense battalion in Damascus to use the S-300, which is important for the Syrian military because the Israeli Air Force often targets the capital and its surroundings.

In October 2017, the first S-300 system was delivered to Syria as part of an agreement with the Russian Federation.

The Russian military delivered the S-300 system in response to the downing of their IL-20 reconnaissance aircraft that was flying along the Syrian coast.

The Russian Ministry of Defense accused Israel of using the IL-20 for cover during their attack on the Latakia countryside in September.

What's the range of the missiles Israel are dropping anyways?
I assume the S-300 has longer range so they'd have to close the airspace of Lebanon and Israel far enough so that the planes can't get in range to drop the missiles.
If they are hindered from closing the airspace of mentioned nations (IAF launches them outside of Syria), the S-300 won't have much of an effect on the missiles being dropped (S-300 are too expensive to waste on small missiles).

At the presser with #Erdogan, #Putin alluded to the 1998 Adana Agreement btw #Syria & #Turkey as "the basis of anti-terror co-op".
Putin's remark is very important as he literally yet implicitly urged TR to reactivate this accord & to allow SAA to take ctrl of the "safe-zone"

Depends on how edgy you feel.
The best thing for the country is probably Maduro staying in power for a little while longer.
Otherwise, you'd have to wish for a military coup (unlikely) or the same sitruation that has been going one for these past years, where mass protest try to get the government to cede power, to no avail, as they have the backing of security forces. Add to the mix a bunch of economic sanctions, although this shouldn't be an excuse given the amounts of oil they produce over there, economic mismanagement is the major cause for their current situation obviously.

tldr
Although Maduro is a moron the alternative is chaos and possibly a US puppet.

Afghan Shitmupdates - Taliban are present in Qarghayi District south of Mihtarlam in Laghman Province

It ties into the strategy I outlined back in early 2018 - the Taliban are surrounding each provincial capital in preparation for storming them one by one.

Doc, Pingu, I welcome your input

The Taliban will continue their strategy of capturing the countryside around the provincial capitals with the goal of using them as staging grounds for attacks against the capital cities themselves.
I expect the Taliban will not move on the provincial capitals with the goal of capturing and holding them this year unless opportunities present themselves - case in point, Kunduz on Sept 28, 2015.
>According to a government security official, the Taliban had been vastly outnumbered, with only an estimated 500 fighters remaining against about 7,000 government troops and allied militia members. However, local politicians from Kunduz said that the government had failed to provide leadership and support to its fighters in the area.
Just like Mosul.

Meanwhile, we should expect more attacks like the one that happened in Wardak, as well as many more ambushes, SVBIED/VBIED/IED attacks, assassinations, turncoats suddenly firing on gov't agents, and other elements of insurgent warfare with the obvious goal of bleeding the ANDSF further since they're down to 75% strength - if you doubt this number, I can provide the math and sources to back up this claim.

Semi-competent (because there are no truly competent guys in the ANDSF) gov't officials/military commanders will be targets for assassination while incompetent gov't officials/military commanders will be left alone for the time being due to them doing more damage by being in command than the Taliban could inflict for the time being - see again, Kunduz.

Provinces like Farah, Ghazni, Helmand, Zabul, Faryab, Logar will continue to undergo heavy Taliban pressure/resistance to counteroffensives throughout the year.
Nangarhar will continue to be a 3-way clusterfuck and I do not see this changing this year unless something drastic happens.
Kunar could turn into a 3-way clusterfuck as well.
Takhar and Balkh may surprise us this year.

I expect Herat and Kandahar Provinces to be the next battlefields in the campaign of capturing countryside around provincial capitals - but again, opportunities may present themselves that the Taliban will exploit - and I expect the Taliban will eventually focus on the roads linking Nimruz Province to the rest of Afghanistan in order to isolate it further and make the province vulnerable to Taliban takeover since its main resupply will be the airport
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaranj_Airport - which can be shut down with constant mortar/artillery attacks

…if only so they can control a corner of Afghanistan and then expand from that corner with increased manpower due to shortened frontlines to create a snowball effect - but this will also be the case if the Taliban capture and hold any provincial capital against ANDSF/NATO counterattacks.
