If we were to theoretically create a new mlp themed cryptocurrency, what would be a good name that could compete with the big names? Here's a list of some names I've come up with.

Celesticoin?
Lunacy?
Apples?
Shim Shams?
Glim Glams?
Sparkles?
Smiles?
20%'s?
DashCash?
Discordance
Derps or Muffins?
Trix or BicepBux?
Macintoshes?
Spikes?
Changelings?
Ponks?
Boops?
Rainbooms?
Rocks?
Cadenzas?
Fillies?
Thoraxles?
BeardedSwirls?
Moonmares?
Tartarusbucks?
Scratches?
Octaves?

Any others that might be real breadwinners?

Of those, I think DashCash with some little slogan about the coin being 20% more awesome would probably be the best.

Although, that said, Dash is already a crypto currency. So that would probably fuck with people who mix them up and try to use incompatible wallets.

I'm trying to make a decent picture right now for it. Can't say it's going that well though.

I'm leaving those links just in case anyone else wants to try and make use of this list.

Is Photoshop best for making decent pictures? Or is Microsoft paint good enough?

Oh, I got one!
We take "bits" and make it something completely original!

How about "Bitcoin"?

Can someone explain the appeal of cryptocurrency to me? Cause I don't get it.

This. Why the hell would you ever pay a transaction fee on a currency with a volatile value when you can transact in more stable real
money more for free?

It needs to reference MLP's best parts directly, but in a memorable way. No Glimglams.

I like the idea of one pound being a Dashcash, with the pennies (Or cents, I suppose) being "a 20percent".

I like Lunacy personally. It’s a subtle enough reference that normies wouldn’t get the joke and might therefore take it seriously (insofar as a crypto currency can be taken seriously) but people in the fandom would get it.

Value of the coin is controlled by the market, rather than the government printing endless copies.

Honestly I don't think cryptocurrencies are what is going to replace fiat currency in the first place. It's a step towards it, but not the end goal I don't think. I'm just latching onto the train for the free cash.

Yes, yes. But, you said that the reason why it's superior is because bitcoin is controlled by the market while fiat is not. Don't you know that the motivation for debasing a currency of a metallic link is essentially ensuring that is not bound by a fixed rate but it's exchange in foreign markets?

Didn't say it's superior. Only said that's why people like it.

I wouldn't say it's the best of reasons. Anonymity is a better one. And, when paired with the phrase "government printing endless copies" is contradictory if you find that problem to be an issue of speculative nature.
