The show might be over, but I've still got shit to finish.
That said, I don't know if I'll stick around after I'm done or not. I want to, but...

You got me thinking.
What will become of this site once the show end?
What will replace MLP:FiM?
My guess is that only /pol/ folk will abide with the ponies remaining as a legacy.

Can it ever truly end? What is it? The show? I still listen to radio broadcasts from the late 40s. No new content for that show has ever been produced, let alone fan art or greens.

What is it that you fear will end? What of this can ever truly, finally end, so long as it lives in the hearts and imaginations of frens?

No, I stand before you today and I tell you thusly: ponies live on within and without you. They are a state of mind so much as they are a work of art, and wherever you are, they will be. So long as you carry them with you, anon, there is no end. Even you are not necessary for this, though you should accompany the unending march. Take heart, for what has been birthed is greater by magnitudes than even the creators could have hoped for. It has eclipsed totally the dreams of the forerunners, and it lives on eternally.

tl;dr don't be afraid, friend. It will all be okay. Love you, too.

The site will continue to exist as long as people post on it. We have no plans to change format. As long as people post ponies there will be ponies. Personally I’ve never understood this weird attitude that just because a TV series is no longer currently airing it’s fandom should somehow evaporate. There hasn’t been a currently airing Star Trek series in almost 20 years but that doesn’t seem to stop people from enjoying what exists or talking about it on the internet.

Hell, I'm not leaving. I haven't watched an episode of this show since before they introduced the Diversity 6, I don't think the show ending will change my love for pony. Pony is a lifestyle, you know?

Why leave? I see this site as an appreciation of wholesome cartoons in general, a sort of anti-Tumblr as that site likes animation for all the wrong reasons. Just because something is over doesn't mean it's dead, as you can go over it again and appreciate everything that made it good.

One thing in particular right-wingers of a creative streak could do is take back animation. There are endless possibilities for cute MLP-esque shows that demonstrate true culture to new generations (though I can't for the life of me think of a better animal theme for characters than horses). Animation is superior to live-action in guerrilla cultural warfare, as your face doesn't get revealed, budgets can be cheaper, and it is highly flexible. Also, it's a lot easier to compete with mainstream shows and you can draw traffic away from Youtube. Think of how Murdoch Murdoch became a cult hit. The main trick, besides creativity, is to simply be self-aware in production; Christian media outside Veggietales laughably lacked this and failed to have widespread cultural impact. I'm sure a bunch of wry humorists who've watched high-quality shows their whole life could do better and beat out the Jews while they're at it.

This. I haven't really watched the show since the end of S6. (Kept up with EqG/Comics though). I care so much more about the community around the show than the show itself it's wild. Plus, with how much fanfic I've archived and haven't touched, I could stop archiving today and still have enough new pone material for years.

This idea is not at all implausible. The bar for producing children's cartoons was not set all that high to begin with honestly, and the left has only lowered it by emphasizing propaganda over entertainment value. There is a demand for quality children's programming that is not currently being met.

Case in point, this would be our competition:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJQs_KIDkbU

Hulu is literally producing "My Interracial Gay Dads Gave Me AIDS," and I'm willing to bet that despite being fawned over by critics, it will completely flop commercially. Kids don't give a shit about this kind of stuff. If we could manage to make anything with even a modicum of entertainment value we could very realistically be competitive even without merchandising and financial backing, we'd just have to get it in front of people.

Also, another interesting fact I learned recently that is worth mentioning: the name "Equestria" is not actually trademarked by Hasbro. All of the known characters are considered Hasbro IP, but we could make a show with the same art style set in the same universe and they couldn't do anything about it so long as we didn't use any of their characters. Maybe a prequel set 500 years in the past or something.

Haven't been here in a while, Y'all are kinda making it look like the fandom is ending, rather it's shrinking further I reckon.
>>246083
I wonder what keep you who stay from leaving the fandom. Don't get me wrong MLP has done great things for me. It got me into horses and taught me valuable lessons. Show is bound to have a waifu for you that you can look up to. But I've grown weary of seeing these minimalist ponies, (well, except for one B-) it's gotten trite. I rather look at real horses for lack of their presence (or fresh art styles).

But we haven't so I don't get your post. There is no reason to leave now more than there were before. Anyone can stop caring or begin to care whenever they want about ponies.
It is just subjective. You no longer care but I do.
So I don't know what to tell you. I haven't grown tired of these ponies because I haven't.
