I have a policy to look away from the screen when the episode writer credit shows up, to avoid bias of past episodes by that writer coloring my expectations for the majority remainder of the episode that I am watching (everything but the cold open and perhaps one other line of dialogue before the writer credit shows up)
I checked back after this episode and it is no surprise that this was a Haber & Vogel production, altho Dubuc also would've made sense.
Filth. Absolute filth. Discord being a stupid gaylord who oopsies various mischief but is generally now a goody two-shoes who is genuinely trying and wanting to help these ponies in their mushy love for each other is pathetic.
Applejack didn't even get one speaking line in the episode of her own brother's wedding.
Their awful writing has everything to do with the fact that these two men are very liberal.
Actually, since I am posting here, I'm allowed to say that Vogel's Jewishness is the primary source of him being complete garbage when the touches these characters.
Nicole Dubuc is also a faggot. Liberals are very stupid and they tend to ruin characters. I've looked back on what episodes these three wrote and we managed to get lucky with some of the two-parters being barely tolerable if you use headcanons to excuse away some of the stupid bullshit.

And Lyra and Bon-Bon would've been long-married-to-each-other if pony society is as inclusive to their version of gays as you fags make it out to be.
Meaning that the gesture was clearly made for an outside audience who should not be liking at the very least the past two seasons of the show.
