I don't think so. What you say would be true under times of greater political normalcy, like the Neo-Nazi terrorism of the Clinton era, or even the Charlottesville rally just last year. But the fundamentals have changed since then. There is no longer any benefit to trying to attack those associated with you who commit violence. And once the incentives change, the behavior will change.

I cannot imagine what more Trump could have done to separate himself from anti-semitism. He moved the embassy to Jerusalem, he has Jewish family members, he prayed at the wall of the old temple with a kippa on, and his most vocal support network - Brietbart - is openly Zionist. And the radical anti-semites, for their part, have tried to distance themselves from Trump, calling him a "neo-con cuck." Just look at how Trump responded to the news that the MAGAbomber was an extreme-Trump supporter. Initially, Trump did come out attacking any use of violence for political ends. The Left, for their part, are already circling the wagons when one of their own commits political terror. CNN reporters openly say on air that violence against "Nazis." And don't think for a damned minute that the Alt-light isn't fully aware that the word "Nazi," as used by the Left, is code for "people who don't want to destroy Western civilization." They are not going to be supportive of closing down non-silcon valley platforms of speech on the internet. They won't be fooled again.

This attack seems like an aberration, a massive deviation from the normal. But we have entered a new normal, and domestic political terrorism will soon become a weekly, or at least monthly event. No, it's a delusion. People were not impressed or motivated by the tiki torches and chanting, they were turned off or made fun of it all. Richard Spencer, the power-hungry grub that he is, organized more rallies but they never had the numbers or energy that Charlottesville had before it fell apart, because anyone with half a brain would not want to be at a repeat. It was glorified LARPing; if leaders were serious we would have a more formal movement with its own aesthetic, with marches based on presenting a positive celebration of civilization rather than waving flags around with spergy slogans.

It wasn't time to go public and it won't be until we can organize in a major town that's on our side and with enough people to provide a show of strength to a population that's willing to accept our message regardless of how we're portrayed by the media. Throughout all of 2016 and the first half of 2017 people were mocking the Left for their hyperbole about racism, while white nationalism increasingly appeared as a solution for all this blame towards whites. Charlottesville was something like the boogeyman that was portrayed and gave the Left impetus that they had lost since Trump was elected.
