He gets memed on for this but I honestly don't think it was his fault Italy was fucked. He was more or less forced into the Axis powers by Hitler and was not ready for a World War.

True, Germany did hold some of the blame, but if only he waited longer before going with the Axis. Or perhaps not open up more fronts in Africa and Greece. As most of the problem with the Italian army was that they were lacking in supplies, if they waited long enough they could've been a greater ally to the Axist or even as strong as Germany.
