>North Korea's Kim Jong Un crosses DMZ line for historic meeting with South Korea
>North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has crossed the line dividing the demilitarized zone (DMZ) to meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-in in what's being described as a historic summit.
The two leaders shook hands at the Military Demarcation Line dividing the North from the >South, smiling, chatting and posing for photos together. Holding hands, they crossed the line together. Shortly after, two children from South Korea presented Kim with flowers, which the North Korean leader passed to his sister, Kim Yo Jong.
>Escorted by traditional music, Moon and Kim walked together to where the opening ceremony is prepared.
>It's the first time leaders of the two countries have met since 2007 and is part of a recent thawing of relations as South Korea and the United States have focused on diplomacy in their efforts to dismantle North Korea's nuclear weapons program.
>The summit has been in the works for some time, with the stage being set by two previous meetings between high-level North and South officials, as well as the North's participation in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, earlier this year, where the two marched under a united flag.

>South, North Korea declare commitment to full denuclearization, ending war
>The two Koreas have reached a landmark 'Panunjom Agreement' to achieve full denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and agreed to pursue a peace treaty to formally end the Korean War.
>South and North Korean leaders Moon Jae-in and Kim Jong Un signed and declared a joint agreement Friday after wrapping up their two-part summit talks at the Peace House building on South Korea's side of the Panmunjom border village that divides the two Koreas.
>In the three-part document, "the South and the North have agreed that the main measures taken by North Korea are very significant and important measures for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," agreeing to fulfill their responsibilities and roles in the future.
>Moon and Kim also decided to pursue a formal end to end their state of war and replace the current armistice with a peace treaty through trilateral efforts with the United States, or a four-way meeting including China.
South and North Korea are technically still at war as their 1950-53 Korean War ended with an armistice signed by the U.S.-led United Nations Command, North Korea and China.
>Seoul and Pyongyang will also refrain from using force on one another and take measures to ease military tensions and build trust through a step-by-step process, according to the document.
>The historic meeting between the two leaders began at about 10:15 a.m. Seoul time.

Most have been wanting this for a long time. The threat of war on the peninsula disrupting international trade means the ones on top want this shit over with too. The only real question is what Kimmy will want in exchange to denuclearize. If it's too much than America, the real decider in the peace process, will never agree to a treaty.
