this single image, landed the simpsons as an anti liberal cartoon. such I see is wrong, but you wont understand it without context.
about a year ago, there was a documentary displaying how the Simpsons display Apu, the character in the picture, as a stereotypical South Asian. The simpsons confronted this in their latest episode, where marge gets a book that was inoffensive at the time, and tries to read it to lisa. however, the book contained many stereotypes, and marge only realized this while reading it. alarmed, she edits parts of the book where it was stereotypical, making it a boring book where it fit all the liberal perfections, but making the book a boring one. "doesn't it make the book boring as there is nothing to gain from the character, and there is no real journey she takes?" Lisa states. "I don't know," says marge. "it is strange how something seemingly inoffensive decades ago is now considered to be bad." "I wonder what Apu says about that." cut to the scene where the picture, is shown.
this reflects the Simpsons as a whole, as decades ago, the stereotypes of the Simpsons were celebrated, while now they are considered evil.

not to mention, the liberals are only complaining about Apu, the stereotype of south asia, while we have homer, the lazy, fat American, mr.burns, your stereotypical evil boss.
