This friday, two men aboard a car fired four CRS who were jogging in Carcassonne during the mid-morning. One of the officers were injured in the shoulder and was transported to the hospital. The duo fled in his vehicle towards Trèbes.
Now, there is a hostage situation in a supermarket in a village.
According to a testimony collected by one of our journalists present in Trèbes, about twenty people managed to leave the Super U of Trèbes at the time when the hostage taking started. One of the clients who managed to leave the place evokes "a man in his thirties" who allegedly "pulled out a weapon while shouting Allah Akbar" and said: "You are bombing Syria, you will die". Several shots would have been fired.
The butcher of the supermarket has been killed.
The Prime Minister confirmed the terrorist act.
The town has been cordoned off.
The hostage taker is known by the intelligence services for its links with radical Islam.
He is presumably alone inside the Super U of Trèbes and he is a young man from Carcassonne. Relatives of this man, less than 30 uears old, would have been taken care of by the gendarmes and transported to the places where the hostage-taking took place since mid-morning. The mother is currently in the place.
