Therefore in a somewhat rational fantasy, relative to what the depicted cartoon implies, it's quite ambiguous as to whether a 4-5 year old pony represents the 16-20 years old, a 3-4 year old pony 12-16, and so on. Ponies in a rational fantasy would still have some differences in the biological nature of aging from humans.

You cannot simply gauge a pony maiden as you do a human maiden.

There is literally nothing wrong with breeding a filly. Within the confines of a loving, faithful marriage, there is no reason that a filly who is capable of being a mother should not be made one according to her wishes. And she will wish, because it is her biological imperative, and it should not be denied. Doing so breaks things and creates problems.

As I stated previously however, this doesn't necessarily follow that in an alternative realm, dimension, or universe, that time passage or even what's interpreted as lifespan relative to contemporary human being will follow the same rules, in another realm, dimension, universe, or even other parts of this universe. I think it's also a product of wasted youth. In a more natural world, one would be a man by 18, with his own talents and work and a wife and kids. These days one spends their youth doing basically anything but creating a family with another young person. So there is that desire to go back and do what was natural, now in everyone's old(er) age. A desire to do what life forbade you from doing then. To essentially be a kid again, and do what nature compels, instead of what society demands.

It's sort of like a tragedy when you think about it. In the dramatic sense.
