I'm the other Iranon. I'm not sure if he'll have time or not, since universities have started here recently, and he might not be able to work like before. I myself won't be able to do any graphic work until next summer because of this stuff.

A multitude of things really. The Establishment went into overdrive after the Occupy Wallstreet movement made them realise just how vulnerable they really were, and made a considerable effort into pushing identity politics, normalising emotional outbursts.

Anyway now the left seems to be pro megaCorps and prior to twitter getting taken over were very smug about "they're a private company, don't like it? Start your own."

Agreed, but I think we also need projects for scientists to work on. Cottage scale industry projects for the common man to help /ourguys/ decouple from the system. Many new grads are just being thrown away. Give them projects and they will gravitate towards us.

Science is mostly a grift. I read a shark science study. I forget the university, but this marine biologist had a team working for years, using millions to study shark sleep, to see if they dream. After years of research and millions spent, "results inconclusive, not sure if sharks sleep. Plez gib more grant money kthx."

2: millitary spook research
3: guys having fun trying things out, inventing new things, or better things than exist before, like the guy who invented the worlds fastest camera so he can record laser beam travel
4: evil supervillians funding microbiology labs to engineer the next disease to inflict suffering and misery on us all
5: pretending the giant ring built around your quiet Alpine country is to research particle physics and not just a giant esoteric alchemists lab opening portals to hell.
It's not an exhaustive list but really science needs funding. Especially if it's cool stuff like what John Hutchinson did, needs funding for the materials and energy needed to conduct experiments.
As for right and left wing, any hard science (physics, chemistry, biology) is about knowledge of God's creation and doesn't lend itself to political play pretend, that's only done when it's expedient, as in "why yes women can have xx, xy, xxo and xo chromosomes, please may I keep my tenure"
