If it is Nippon he probably had good reason for his actions. Could be revenge for the racism they experience when applying for college. Seeing people with sub-par intelligence take their rightful spots will eventually lead to this. Meritocracy should always be the rule, and one day, if not now, Nippon will retaliate.
But I would say it is more likely religion of peace, dindu or a family matter that is the cause.
