You see, the history of 4chan starts when M00T was a silly underage use in the +18 Something Awful forums.
Back then, SA was king shit of the internet shoving random stupidity to the net.
After a while, the userbase was big, so the admin of SA though (and he had the right, but not this way) he could be lucrative from the userbase.
So, SA starts a monthly subscription system.
M00T, like any kid, didn't had money. But he had an idea: after his time in SA, he saw from the site a japanese forum called 2chan.
He was aware of Hiro's rap sheet, but he saw the interface and the userbase, so he was determined to have fun!
At his innocent 15 years, he opened 4chan: a small anonymous forum website where everyone could post anything they want! (as long as they are in the appropiate board).
He ran the site for 12 years, adquiring experiences, good (Anonymous and their good will activities) and bad (lawsuits and code breakings).
After he was done, he left everything to Hiro, hoping everything would be okay.
But now, look: the succesor turned his back on the original view. The userbase is more retarded everyday, and the nip is trying to get until the last coin the website can offer.
We are at the end. Maybe this is what M00T wanted: he left the site behind. And probably he wanted to shut it down many times, but he couldn't bring himself to do it.

The issue is that many 4/mlp/ generals end up as namefagging circlejerk bumpfests with no new content to be had. Ones like the Anonfilly Thread are allowed here because they continue to produce content, but when a general comes to the end of its life it needs to die.

Basically, if someone wants to transplant a general from 4/mlp/ to /mlpol/, it needs to stay happening, or else it's best to let it fall off of the catalogue.

Most of the fandom created generals still produce content just not as fast as Anonfilly because they've always been a huge group and they've always been that way(no-u meme replies). Many smaller niche generals don't get much of a chance on /mlp/ even if there's new content of both writing and drawing get pushed off due to LQ thread spam or raid spam. Even waifu flavor generals on /mlp/ still can have content creators, but I agree if there's nothing more than a bumpfest with nothing new on the horizon in ages then it should die. However, the waifu or clop threads here are nothing but imagedumps and kind of defeats the argument that there's something new for content.

In terms of activity, whether you like the content or not /rgre/ is one of the most popular ones on /mlp/ and easily competes with anonfilly activity. And there's plenty of cases where a general is agreed to rest for months or years until interest builds on it again, people discuss riviving it in another general and then fresh new content gets made. This kind of community cross-pollination activity is totally absent on /mlpol/. This is a much more comfy quiet place to talk about something related to /pol/ but it's missing a large chunk of what makes up the /mlp/ side of /mlpol/ without content creation. I already know about the /mlpol/flavored OC generals like Luftkrieg, but there's a big gap of everything else.
