Ponies have generated the most advanced civilization on the planet (that we know of) and they did all of this without opposable thumbs or even fingers. How much grit and tenacity do you need to build a barn without hands?

Now, when they are transformed into the superior, opposable thumb and finger wielding, humans they are degraded from builders of civilization to ditzy school girls fighting to win school competitions.

It robs them of their magnificent achievements despite their limitations as ponies. It's an insult to pony greatness.

Never saw EqG at all and I'm not a fan of how they look. Pencil limbs and off proportions just don't look good to me. Doesn't mean I got anything against humanized or touched up versions of the ayys.

This is one of the reasons I think Vril is right, and why we shouldn't diminish what the ponies have achieved. We are like cavemen looking at technology beyond our comprehension. To us it looks like magic, to the ponies it is skills they have worked hard for.
The ponies could trot down to Africa and been rolling in the sand never creating anything more advanced than strawhuts. But they chose to be like the Europeans. To stand their ground and make the land fruitful and great. They overcame all the difficulties nature put in their way. They were determined to use all their skill and created technology for survival. When the land was tamed the ponies built Castles and great monuments. They perfected the arts through paintings, sculptures and created great music. The ponies overcame it all and became the greatness we see. At the same time other inferior races stood still, never evolving, never trying to overcome, never trying to better themselves.
