For Russia MLP figure having visible head/torso connection, very few unevenly colored spots and blemishes while retaining the show accuracy is quality. It cost me about 1500 roubles (incl. shipping) - 30 bucks or so and I don't complain because the figures of top quality would cost me 3 or 4 times more.

Don't I know it, I'm already "that guy" with the room full of anime figurines, in fact I put the majority of them in storage when I moved into a house with people just so I wouldn't give my roommates the creeps. Once I started watching this show I realized the reason I'd always stayed away from it is because subconsciously I knew it was something I was pretty likely to get way into and pretty soon I'd be "that guy" with all the pony plushies.

Oh well, there's no sense fighting fate I guess.

Don't bother with most official merch. It's overpriced and low quality. Cons are the best place to go for stuff like this, that's where I got 90% of my stuff. Funkos are pretty cute and cheap tho, good for bulking out your collection. The plush makers of this fandom are fucking phenomenal, you can get anything from a 1" beanie to a 60" life size alicorn princess

Yeah, I've definitely seen some pretty cool looking stuff here and there. I go to anime cons every now and then and there's usually a fairly large pony presence at those places. I was going to go to Sakura Con this year but didn't end up doing it because I had to spend a bunch of money getting my car fixed and going to a con without money is pointless. I may change it up and do something pony related this year to make up for it.

In any case if I ever see anything like pic related I'm buying it, I don't care how much it costs.

Yeah I saw someone had started a thread on BABScon here at one point, and the thought occurred to me of taking a quick trip down there. Trouble is I have family in the Bay Area and if I'm in town I'd feel obligated to visit, and if I visit I'd have to tell them why I'm in town. Not quite ready to cross that particular bridge yet. I may check out EFNW if I can swing it, that looks fun.
