That was the strategy originally but a bunch of extreme leftist candidates just won in the Democratic primaries. The party leadership is freaking out because they know it fucks their chances of taking power back, so they're trying to calm the SJWs down and get them to back centrist candidates, but it isn't working. Realistically Dems are losing power because they've lost almost all the blue collar support that they used to have, and the "new" coalition of spics, nigs, women, millennials, etc. isn't strong enough that they can afford to discard the blue collar vote just yet. The party knows it needs to get those votes back and they're on full damage control over the primaries. However nobody's interested in being a centrist anymore, and SJWs don't even try to pretend that they don't hate working-class whites. There is no center anymore, eventually everyone is going to have to pick a side.

God damn I love living in Georgia.
