South Carolina Considers Secession Over Gun Rights

>A group of House Republicans in South Carolina introduced legislation that would allow the state to consider secession should the federal government violate the Second Amendment.
>It states “the general assembly shall convene to consider whether to secede from the United States based on the federal government’s unconstitutional violation of the Second Amendment to the United Sates Constitution if the federal government confiscates legally purchased firearms.”
Do states have the right to succession? Should they have the right to succeed?

States do not legally have the right to secession, and the supreme court has already confirmed this. The question is whether or not the next president would be willing to pull a Lincoln and ACTUALLY go to war to bring them back.

Already should.
Kansas passed a law a couple years ago voiding all the acts in the posted image within the state.
Don't know if it has been enforced though.
Thus, it is technically legal, to Kansas law, to purchase or manufacture full auto, silencers, etc, as long as they have stayed within the boundaries of the state.

Good luck trying to fucking stop a bunch of states from seceding. The supreme court my ass, it couldn't mater more whether a bunch of old faggots think a state can't secede, if it can then it will, if it can't then it won't.
Also its part of our state culture.

It's been done once before. But like I said, we don't know if the next time it happens, the current president would be willing to fight for the union again.

>The supreme court my ass
The question was whether they have the right to. Where "rights" are concerned is the the prerogative of the Supreme Court. That said, technically speaking the US didn't have the legal "right" to secede from Great Britain, and yet we did it anyways, and we earned that right through war. Just because you don't have a right under the law doesn't mean you can't give yourself a right by fighting for it.

If the US is going to balkanize I'd rather it was some liberal state like California that fired the first shot, that way we'd start the war off with the moral high ground.

or better yet:

>California secedes
>Trump shrugs and says "okay, sure"
>California is now its own country
>left wing media proclaims it a victory, entire news cycle 24/7 is nothing but talking points about how Trump spinelessly let the US split apart
>other liberal states realize they can do the same thing
>there go New York, New Jersey, Washington, Oregon, Vermont, etc.
>America becomes great again
>meanwhile mini-revolts break out all across leftopia as the red parts of the blue states secede from their crappy new countries to rejoin Best America
>Trump shrugs and repatriates them, no strings attached
>leftopia is now a loose association of isolated city states with no farmable land and most of their population on welfare
>get comfy and watch the slow-motion train wreck for a while
>eventually leftopia hits critical mass
>no food, no money, no industry, the only whites left alive are the ruling elites holed up in their palaces as the ocean of hungry shitskins closes in around them
>beg to repatriate
>they are allowed to rejoin as territories with no representation on the condition that they expel habitual criminals and foreign-born population, which would probably be most of their population at this point

YES! Please, let it be so!

South Carolina has always been first in this.

Technically, Fort Sumter was the reason for the war.

If the 2nd amendment is removed wouldn't that make the treaty for the union null and void? Or is it some other document that stipulates the terms of the union?

>>137896
Wonderful. He says it wont pass, but, God forbid, the US had a Democratic president, I think the chances for it passing goes up to 100% it will pass.
Regarding secession, there was newer added any mechanism for leaving the union when it was created. So technically once joined you joined forever. But as >>137902 says only war could bring them back, and I don't think the Democrats will have the army on their side in a new civil war.

>California secedes
Fuck that. Kick them out. A nation has the right to back out of an agreement - that includes the original agreement to allow states to join the United States. All a president has to do is stop recognizing California as a legal part of the U.S., and treat it as a foreign land. Stop collecting taxes from it, stop giving aid to it, etc.

It would be hilarious once they stop getting water from American rivers - they live in a fucking desert.

Californian, confirming this. I honestly think California would be best off detaching from its host body and realizing the hard way that it needs to be better before it can survive. Granted I can't stomach leaving my home state and would probably stay on the sinking ship just to try to enact change, but clearly we're just as bad as West Africa in terms of leeching off federal taxpayer money to live degenerate lives and never work a day in our lives. Maybe it'd be best for us, yknow?

Don't gloat just yet, other states and even foreign nations are going through similar problems; When we sink, Texas and Illinois are not far behind.

Don't celebrate the death of a symptom when the cause is still afoot.
What no I didn't delete my post because I mistook your flag for the Texas flag, don't be silly.

Illinois will go first. Illinois bonds are almost junk bonds, and they're raising income taxes again. The wealthy are fleeing Illinois and the state is borrowing just to keep the lights on. At least commiefornia has a future, Illinois doesn't

Check out the 10th Amendment:
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

So since the Constitution don't have an section about secession nor a section prohibiting secession, it would be up to the States or the people themselves... Nice.
Also would that section open up for people being able to demand a referendum. Because if the people of a State want something the elected representatives of the State don't want the will of the people shall be heard.

Don't let the NWO in our office get you down, SC. If shit goes down, I'll move to the midwest and assist you in the civil war from there. I am nubile, but flexible, and I hold passion for our history and heritage. No matter what happens, I won't let the next generation say that I did nothing my entire life, and if that means dying for my brothers across my homeland, that's just fine.

Have some Byron De La Vandal, SC posters. I think you'll agree that folk music will be the best propaganda tool outside memes to re-appropriate from the leftists and win the hearts and minds of those in our nation who aren't doomed to a life supporting antifa.
