Trump has now officially stated that he is keeping the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which makes over a million illegal aliens un-deportable.
"Illegals enrolled in the President Barack Obama’s 'Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals' DACA program can 'rest easy,' Trump said, because 'this is a case of heart.'"
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/04/21/trump-says-daca-illegals-can-rest-easy/
What does mlpol think? Personally, I am okay with keeping DACA because of the political repercussions of removing it, but I'm kind of pissed off that he'd call it a "case of heart." That's the kind of rhetoric we'd expect out of John Kasich, who no one here (or anywhere outside of Ohio) voted for

Does this mean anchor-babies are still a viable strategy to get away with disrespecting our border free of consequences?

Well, I think its a move to gain good reputation with left leaning centrists. Far left is obviously too far gone.

He can say that but goverment could probably initiate some other laws to solve this anchor child problem.

I like the idea of taking children from their parents if they prove to be bad influence to children. Like commiting crimes and stuff. I would believe that child of any race can be civilized to certain extend, its matter of raising it.

Anyways, I know something like that was done in the UK and it stirred up many jimmies. Supposedly UK officials went overboard with the policy. Porbably an attempt to counter aging population? Though I would think nobody is going to attempt this policy again.

I disagree with this strongly. If some kids parents break the law and they're citizens their family essentially gets separated too. Deport the parents and show their fucking beaner kids what happens when you break the fucking law.

If you could take their kids for commiting crimes, that would be ideal.

>immigrants breed a lot

>immigrant parent commit crime
>immigrant parent go to prison
>take their kid away to raise it being civilized, optionaly you need to wait for other parent to commit crime (if it does) then take it away

>The program has allowed at least 770,000 illegal immigrants to find jobs in major U.S. cities, even though tens of millions of Americans outside the cities are unemployed or have given up trying to find work.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
They were raised in the US, correct? As long as you stop current-day anchor babies from seeping, ya should be golden. A comprimise like this should just be considered damage control. But the parents are still getting the boot, yeah?

They came to the US at an early age, I'm not sure of the exact legally required minimum. I think the parents are generally removable. Of course these people are going to have children who will be american citizens and vote.

I think what really matters is that we don't let MORE in. Whoever is already here should stay as long as they aren't gang bangers and are productive

Obviously more coming in is a deep concern, but don't overestimate the impact it would have if illegal aliens were granted citizenship. It would give the Democratic party a permanent majority

>Oh India, you have one thing going right.

In India, they believe very strongly that the child should never be separated from their parent, especially mother. So if the mother commits a crime, the child joins them in prison as well till the parents time is up or the child is old enough to leave on their own.

So in all honesty, why can't America send back the illegal child with their illegal parents? All it does is give more excuse for them to continue to break the law by claiming the child the reason for illegally trespassing all because they dumped it in America.

This makes so much sense.
>mother immigrated illegally
>she needs to be deported
>child needs to be with their mother
The solution is obvious. Fuck this whole "they're a citizen" thing. If they are, they still need to follow their mother, who is being deported.

supporting DACA is just window dressing to placate the mexicans. there's a pretty big catch in that the DACA people can't get caught breaking the law. Even stuff like a DUI. so the question really is, do you think most DACA recipients can stay on the right side of the law?

the answer to that is HAHAHAHAHA and also some DACA recipients stole the rims off your car while you were reading this.

The fact that DACA users can still be deported if they get criminal records is definitely a plus

I think anchor babies of felons or criminals (even something as simple as theft) should have the chance to either return with it's parents or be put up for adoption. It may flood adoption centers more, but it's better than letting illegals stay here free of charge. The kids shouldn't be punished for their parents actions.

it's the old iron hand in a velvet glove trick. here you have trump playing nice guy and saying DACA is still on the table. but you also have sessions saying that any criminal DACAs will get bounced. it's all about optics. trump gets to look like a nice guy while sessions takes out the trash. and when DACA defenders start crying, they will rightly be called out as supporting actual criminals.

I liked him better when he didn't care about optics and explicitly said things like "we're going to do a lot worse than waterboard them." This talk about "the heart" like he's used for this and Syria is the kindness that kills that destabilized entire regions of the planet and allowed thousands of rapists and murderers into the west. I'd be just fine if we left the heart out of politics

Either give them citizenship (even temporary) or kick them the fuck out imo. Just having them continue being illegal here is the worst option, creates too many stupid issues for us to deal with.

I do agree that criminals who are here illegally should be higher priority though.
