Find out who their favorite character is and have that one die or sell out ignominiously without a scrap of dignity. Take whatever plot you had planned originally and reverse it, even if it means the bad guys win or whatever. Bonus points if you can get people to laud how "deep and meaningful" your story is when you just wanted to play with it.

To answer your question, just write. It doen't have to be good, so long as you just write. You may accidentally create something that fits into the story you have lost interest in.
