What I mean is that when people think "What is x*y" they will first express x and y in base 10, multiply them, and express the result in base 1488. This is obviously less efficient. Then again, I do most of my mathematics mentally so I might be more interested in efficiency than is really necessary
Anyway, if you're suggesting we use base 1488, give me the numbers 0-1487 written in base 1488 and we'll see if it's viable at all
