Biotech and gene therapy are reversing aging. Brain implants are entering the markets. Cancer vaccines have just hit market. Nootropics and performance enhancing peptides are mainstream. AI is advancing medicine faster than anyone could imagine. Humanity has stolen fire from the Gods and we will soon have the modify ourselves like never before. Immortality is within our grasp. Transhumanism is the future.

I would say this thread belongs on >>>/cyb/ but nobody uses that.

Anyways, what are the political implications?

It might be a solution to population decline and platforms like mRNA are substantially cheaper than monoclonal antibodies or CAR T therapy so affordable cancer treatments are in the near future.

This is cool, but I feel like unless there's a way to ensure that only white people above a certain IQ level are able to benefit from this stuff, it's just going to make things worse in the long run.

Don't worry, poor people couldn't afford it.

How so?
Population decline is mostly due to unaffordable housing, feminism, and postmodern loneliness preventing people from having kids. Idk how this technology would help.

What would it matter if IQ could be increased? With brain implants that isn't out of the question.

>>406437
A lot of these developments are pretty cheap. mRNA for example is orders of magnitude cheaper than monoclonal antibodies.

If lifespan is increased and they are healthier for longer then it will relieve some pressure from the declining birthrates.

I guess here is my concern. The other day I was walking around minding my own business when some street vagrant emitting a pungent urine stench that could be smelled from 20 feet away approached me and demanded I give him free money, and presumably in return for my investment he would continue to exist and smell like urine. When I wouldn't agree to the deal, he proceeded to scream at me and make threats as I was walking away. I could still hear him shouting gibberish at the top of his lungs when I was a good two blocks off.

I think biotech is cool as fuck, but I'm concerned that in the hands of liberal governments it will not be put the best uses. Not everybody's life is worth preserving, let alone artificially extending.

I don't think that actually helps. The oldest people would still be largely infertile, and either unwilling or unable to come out of retirement and support the pension system (just look at how entitled boomers are).

Such people should be locked in asylums and medicated.

The retirement age would have to increase.

DNA technologies can eliminate our monkey instincts from stone age. Without monkey instincts we can reach new boundaries of existence and prosperity.

I only support transhumanism because I want a robotic penis that can shoot semen four times as far

That's a start. Seems like it would be more economical to just compost them and use them to make inexpensive goldfish food. Goldfish need to eat too, you know.
