There has been a small but vocal group of people, called "reunificacionistas", who want to re-join Spain. They showed up at the UN and because of it there's now a project in Spain to potentially give Spanish citizenship to descendants of Puerto Ricans who can trace their heritage to the Spanish-American war.
Anyway maybe Trump is crazy enough to sell us to Spain. I personally think you're knee-capping our economy these days and would rather be independent, which is why I'm kinda mad he insists on trading or selling us off instead of just letting us go (which would be much easier anyway). But I don't want to see what happened in Anguilla happen here, where they basically fought to remain British after they were almost made independent.
However our annexationist movement is much less radical than our independence movement, so I kind of doubt it would happen, but who can really know?

Has Trump ever been averse to openly stating his more outlandish and imaginative ideas on Twitter, Truth Social, or in interviews? Have the people who want to say "lol Trump hates Puerto Ricans" and "Trump doesn't care about the territorial integrity of the United States" ever demonstrated their good moral character and capacity for truth telling? Trump knows Denmark doesn't want Puerto Rico. I would assume this is fake (and probably gay) until I see more solid info, and I don't care to trust Poly Market's hearsay until they do so.

I'm neutral on selling or let it go. What it is important to me is to repatriate the few millions and descendants living in the States.

I would not be opposed to letting Puerto Rico become independent, but I do question if Puerto Rico is stable enough to function independently.
