I did take the time to explain a few points to them. Namely:
*vaccines aren't held to the same safety standards as other drugs
*disease in the west declined mainly due to the adoption of modern hygiene practices. That's why diseases for which no vaccines were developed declined alongside those that did have vaccines.
*the resurgence of infectious diseases correlates stronger with the influx of illegal immigrants who do not follow modern hygiene practices than it does with vaccination rates
*the battery of vaccines given to infants today is vastly different from those administered when they were born, and even when I was born.
*very little study is done on the long term effects of administering many vaccines simultaneously
*Japan has a slower vaccination schedule where infants are given more time to develop before vaccines are administered, and the vaccines are given in smaller batches to allow the child time to recover from the stress of the vaccination
*I shared my opinion that government mandation of medication was fundamentally at risk of exploitation no matter how beneficial a given vaccine may be
