Because working-class scum who don't have a favorite opera should know their place.

>Champagne socialist
A specimen well known.
I'm sure she has no idea that opera in its origins was a genre reserved for the lowly working class and any musical opus with singers, specially women, was thought to be lowbrow and degenerate.
But if she wants to feel superior and special, let her be.

Imagine roleplaying as a nu-aristocrat on the internet. Imagine the insecurity you'd have to feel to brag about this on Twitter of all places, let alone at all. Imagine thinking that being exposed to the arts, most of which are purely for entertainment purposes, makes you more suited for leadership than, say, someone with actual experience in organising people and institutions with often competing goals to work together effectively enough so that everything doesn't go to shit the second you turn your back.

I'm sure if she was the president, she'd use her "high class upbringing" to navigate the geopolitical theatre by asking other world leaders what their favorite fucking opera is. This is why you don't put women in politics, folks. Lost in the world of forms, almost every last one of them. When reality doesn't match up to their vision, they reliably resort to authoritarianism on a scale that would make Stalin look like an anarchist, or as much as the law will let them get away with.

Hey guys, speaking of socialism, how long do you suppose she'd have lasted at Tuol Sleng?

This is one of the emerging trends in 21st Century American politics. Nobody's more arrogant or authoritarian than a petit-bourgeois suburban woman who thinks she knows better, despite never having had a real job in her life. From anti-gun laws to "hate speech" codes, these are the ones pushing hardest for them. God help you if you live in a college town and get one for your mayor.

This quote ought to be engraved at the entrance of every government building:
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” –C.S. Lewis

Just speaking from someone who has moved in those circles. Musical fans are actually more looked down on than the plebs because they think they are part of a more well educated group when they are just eating up yet another opiate.

On a personal level I loved Les Miserable & Cats as a child but more than anything The Producers musical on the stage was quality.

You'll live that down when everyone who remembers forgets faggot. Maybe if you didn't spout your shit taste from the rooftops you wouldn't have an issue.

The hierarchy goes 'opera, rock opera, and then musicals'. Les Mis is the only name so far that has any acclaim to it so far, not that that takes it anywhere. It's all literally song and dance.

Take a look around. Everyone else is discussing the topic at hand. But you're a butthurt faggot, so you're trying to make this all about me.
I really don't care about you or your opinion of me.
The world contains things that are far more important than your feelings. You'd know that if you lived in it.

What if there was a containment thread where all the "grrr reeee fuck nigel" posts could go...
So then none of us would have to look at them?
Not you, or me, or anyone else.
The communists could circlejerk with each other about how angry "Nigel" still makes them after over two years.
And the adults can discuss politics/pony/whatever else in peace.
This "Nigelposting" is nothing but a third-rate thread-derailing attempt.
So I don't think I'll respond to any more "Fuck nigel" posts in this thread, or on this site.
And that includes posts that ignore reality and pretend saying "Fuck off, not interested in your bullshit" = taking part in the bullshit.
