>>12016
as for this, i doubt i'll be a parent. as i said, i'm a shut in. i rarely ever go out and socialize, so no finding a gf there.

My dad's an alright guy. Can't say he did a good job in instilling me with ambition and courage and duty and assertiveness—not for lack of trying, but he ended up achieving the opposite—but he tirelessly provided, and would have been there for me, except i figured out that he caused more frustration than help, but he was alright, i spose.

I respect both my mum and dad. My dad once told some rich banker boss he was a cunt and promptly lost his city job after 30 odd years of good service. He gave me and my siblings all the support and encouragement you should expect and took us from living in a mouse invested flat above a fish and chip shop to a comfortable 400 plus year old cottage in the countryside.

My dad was a cheatin', tempermental cunt. He slept all day every day, smoked pot around me and my brother all the time, and the only two things he taught me about how to be a man were jack and shit.

The best memory I have of him is the time I took a tumble down a tall dune, smashed my face into the sand next to a rock about the size of my head, and he dragged my stupid ass back to our spot on the beach to sit until I stopped seeing stars.

I love him, though, and hope Texas is treating him well.

That's something I've come to see as I've grown up. When you're young your parents are basically superheros. They know everything and do things that you can never imagine.

As I approch the age that they had me, I see that it's basically off the cuff. You have what your parents have shown you, you include your own twist on it based on what you thin they did wrong, but in the end it's just scrambing in the dark. I'm now an uncle from my younger brother and interacting with my new niece when she's old enough to do so terrifies me. All I can do is do my best, as my parents did with me and I hope to do when/if I have my own.

he was, but he also spent most of his free time fucking around in the garage. Pretty much taking any excuse he possibly could not to spend time with my brother and me.

My dad left when i was 3 and started a new family. Then my mom joined a new family of her own and i really lost a place to call home. Every time i live with either i feel like im invading. I dont really have a place to call home or a family.

As far as kids or family of my own. I found out i idealized so much. I thought i wanted it, but after some romances, sex, friendzones with soul mates and just playing the dating game ive realized i largely dont want it. It just doesnt fulfill. Life feels empty if i have it and empty if i dont so i just work to build passive income so i can retireand explore the world a bit and enjoy myself before i die.

That's a man's love though. To go to work everyday takes a reason. That reason is you.

Yeah he might have spent more time wit you outside of that, but from my own perspective I'm not sure I woukd know how if I'm never there. IT's a self fulfilling prophecy.

>He did his best.
Say you've decided to run a marathon. You've had months to prepare and finally it's time to perform. Did you diet, and exercise, and push yourself, and commit to an excellent outcome? If not, when you finally slog your way through at the rear of the pack, i suppose you could say you did your best with what you had at the moment. But can it really be said that you did your best?

…And i don't say this particularly to denigrate anyone's father, but to encourage you to raise your standards, and not give yourself an excuse underperform by excusing someone else.

I like Arthur as well. I like older names like Elizabeth or Beatrice and some unique ones but not in the sense like nigger names. Probably part of my hippy like upbringing but even names like Luna, Nova or Nausicaa.

I'm the eldest of seven. My dad never knew how to put on a condom, but he works hard every day as a one-man carpentry band and co-caretaker of my six younger siblings. Does most of the cooking, too. It hasn't made him the least bit bitter. I would be an incorrigible asshole by now.

For all of the anons posting about not having a dad, or how shitty their dad was/is, let this be a lesson to you. The most important thing you can do is to propagate your race and rear wholesome, valuable members of society. Become the father they weren't.

My parents divorced when I was 11, and I have never been able to respect my father since. When you have children, raising them well should go above all else. The only time you should EVER split a child's parents are if it's in the best interest for the child (ie abusive parenting). The amount of people now that think marriage is something that exists to bring happiness to a couple, and not as a social tool to moderate reproduction is very, very dangerous. It's encouraged now to "pack up and go" if you are unsatisfied in your marriage emotionally or sexually. It's fucking disgusting. Once you create a child, their well-being is your top priority, even if it means sticking around with some bitch you hate.
