>Even as so-called 'sanctuary cities' around the country ramp up their efforts to thwart the Trump administration on enforcing immigration laws, despite the risk of losing their federal subsidies, arrests of illegal immigrants spiked 33% YoY in the first 52 days of Trump's presidency.

I'll be content when the 15 million illegals are out.
The numbers are way too low.

Just how fucked is America when people will go to such lengths to act against their own interests?

Not gonna happen. Too fucking expensive to round up 15 million people in hiding. Get a grip on reality. Let the people who were smart enough to come before Trump got elected stay and be grandfathered in. Build the fucking wall and don't let any MORE come in. If we want mexicans to do our work so badly, don't allow them to send the money they earn back to mexico. And if they are skilled and decent people, expedite their path to citizenship.

To be honest, I think the deportations are even more important and effective than the wall ever could be. Now that things are getting iced-up, there's an impending fear of deportation spread oversociety like a wicked specter. Illegal beaners are so afraid of it, they're taking their kids and fucking off back to Mexico (or Canada), and less of them are willing to cross the border illegal because it's become clear that they're much more likely to get caught and deported.

I don't think you fully appreciate just how dumb liberals in our country really are. Homeless people in my city have taken over entire city blocks to use as shanty towns in flagrant violation of street camping laws. Meanwhile, the rich liberals whose neighborhoods are being taken over get up in arms about human rights bullshit every time the cops try to clear them out.

This. Immigration attempts have already dropped just in the last few months, just because the administration has made it clear that the laws are going to start being enforced again. These people aren't coming here because they love America and want to be part of our country, they're coming because they think it's easy to get a job and get on public benefits. As soon as we make it clear we're not putting up with it anymore they'll stop coming.

The wall is important but it's more a statement of our policy than a practical deterrent. As I mentioned above the main idea is to make sure illegals know they aren't going to just be tolerated anymore. Deporting 15 million people in one go is obviously impractical, but it is important that we keep up the deportations and continue to make it publicly known that we are not going to be tolerant or flexible or make deals with these people anymore. They're not here because they love this country, they're here because it's the path of least resistance for them, as soon as it becomes clear that they're not going to get anymore gibs and nobody is going to hire them, plus they stand the risk of being arrested and deported, a lot of them will start leaving of their own accord, and they'll stop trying to get in. Let Canada deal with them if they want to be progressive.

Exactly. This issue was enabled largely out of pure disrespect for the law. now that it's become clear that the law WILL be enforced, beaners are not so eager to break it.

The last 'amnesty' made California a permanent blue state. Another one would flip Texas. You absolutely can't allow that to happen.

This.
Illegal beaners that break our laws at their own convenience shouldn't just be handed citizenship.

The GOP has offered "compromise" to Democrats on immigration in the form of amnesties and "paths to citizenship" for illegals and their anchor babies and all that's happened is a flood of nonwhites into the country who automatically vote Democrat. If this election has taught us anything, it's that Democrats don't give a shit about compromise; compromise is just their way of saying "do everything we tell you and maybe we won't call you a racist."

Fuck illegals and fuck their mongrel offspring; if you or your parents didn't come here legally you have to go back.
